Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (Chinatown)

• I went there last Saturday with a lot expectation after have been in the New York branch and to be honest I have been satisfy about almost all of them
• The waiting time in Saturday night is around 25/50 minute depends how many people you are
• The surprise is that when you go upstairs in the restaurant you can find a plenty empty table that's probably because of lack of staff and they didn't expect too much guest
• The restaurant is exactly the same of the New York branch
• Same interiors is really really nice and every details are bring you inside the movie
• Course the menu are shrimps cook a million on way and are sooooooo tasty they have even a gluten free menu
• Drink try the solarita trust me and try but all the cocktail are good and u can even bring home the glass
• The staff is really kind and with a lot of energy is a good place for a funny friends dinner or family dinner or a insulate date
• Then shown to the table with lots of smiles from staff
• The restaurant is massive and sits 375 people according to the manager
• Our waiter was nice but again overly nice and everthing was quite in your face
• Heavily themed with Bubba Gump
• Ordered a lemonup drink which is quite pricey at 7.50 but you get to take the plastic glass with lights as a souvenir
• Had the paradise shrimp which is filling but 2/3rds of each cone is filled with cabbage underneath to make it look generous
• The theme of the restaurant is Forest Gump and it brings a bit of fun to your meal
• The portions are a little smaller than its American counterpart
• I struggled with choice as everything sounded so delicious
• It's a perfect location for a night out with friends or family
• Always up for shrimp cocktails go there with a few friends
• So that you can justify a massive order and get your hands dirty with the yummy sauce
• The salads and sandwiches are not a priority for me
• If you like to mix your shrimps with some other fried surprises
• The jambalaya is likely to be your favourite dish
• I like Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (Chinatown) because is very pleasant and easygoing
• Is a bowl served with lots of shrimps cooked in a spicy sauce and served with rice or bread
• It is the place where you can enjoy a full meal with one course
• If you like fried food is perfect for you
• Ambiance is good for a lunch out with a couple of friends
• When I heard a Forrest Gump themed seafood restaurant was opening up on Leicester Square
• Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is something of an international brand by this point
• It almost feels something of a slight that the new London branch is only the first to reach our shores
• Do you not think the British are ready for your shellfish heavy world of smiley faces and homely quotes painted on pre weathered wooden signs
• The British are one of the nationalities that will be least common among Bubba Gump&rsquo
• Sharing the area with literally half of all the Angus Steak Houses in the country*
• This location alone is a great blaring warning signal as we approach the restaurant to engage in the mass consumption of shrimp
• Who assures us that though there is a wait it will only be five to ten minutes
• Everything is violently on theme with regards to Forrest Gump
• The two of us are seated at a round table that is meant for parties three times our size
• Everything is ludicrously expensive
• Re being cooked a fine meal filled with delicate flavours in a more upmarket restaurant
• Our meal was shown in the menu as a collection of four large cones seemingly filled with a selection of shrimp and fries
• 20 price tag) was that the salad was barely edible
• Would have suffered greatly were it not for the three dips provided
• Would have served to comfort us somewhat were they not so weak
• A telling bonus offered by the restaurant was the opportunity to take home a free glass for each of the cocktails we bought
• One is aware that they are being chugged along through some great machine of large smiles and insincere questions
• That the food and drinks at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company are mere side dishes to the spectacle of the restaurant itself
• The remaining three are all in London
• Do not visit these restaurants thinking that they are representative of the British love of steaks
• They have lesser staff hence managing the customers is an issues hence we had to wait to get a seat
• Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (Chinatown) is huge with a wide number of tables to accommodate a high amount of people
• The seating and ambience is all according to the movie Run Forest Run
• The staff engage fully with the Forest Gump theme
• The mashed potatoes are a must with any main
• I thought I was in the wrong place or I had confused Bubba Gump Shrimp Company (Chinatown) with another because all I saw around me was t shirts and other Forrest Gump memorabilia and NO food
• Ve gone all out on the interior (a bit too much in my opinion but goes with the whole Forrest Gump/American theme) I do like the booths
• M sure you want to know how the food was so I will stop yapping away and share my experience
• S always a positive sign when the staff are happy and enthusiastic
• Ready to take your order or help you with whatever you need help with
• We ordered some drinks and we were ready to go

• I always dig into the fries first and we were a little disappointed that they weren&rsquo

• P I loved the fact the batter was spot on fresh
• Crispy and you could hear the crunch with every bite
• The final dish of the evening was the Lobster Roll and the least favourite of all
• The lobster roll itself was really dry and the &lsquo
• One positive thing about the roll was the Lobster meat itself it was cooked well and was fresh
• This fast food joint is definitely on the pricey side but there&rsquo
• S a good place for families with young kids as they will love the ambience of the place
• Re in for some stiff competition as London is full of some really fantastic places to eat (and that aren&rsquo
• I love the walk from Piccadilly Circus the Christmas lights are up and my favourite time of the year has begun
• Well done to whoever was in charge of the Christmas lights this year

• The quality of these cocktails were in stark contrast to those at the recently opened Dishoom in Kings Cross
• Eat Shrimp steamed in beer and served with a choice of spices
• 3 pound of shrimp was actually really good even if the Cajun spice was a touch overpowering
• I just wish the portion was a little more generous
• Another dish we were tipped to try was the Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp £
• S heavily laced with coconut flakes and deep fried to a golden crunch
• How anyone can get this classic Louisiana creole dish confused with four paper cones of fried &lsquo
• Luckily they have a best of the best sampler &ndash
• Homemade biscuit topped with fresh strawberries and chocolate chip cookie sundae
• The chocolate chip cookie sundae was much better
• Shrimp and themed restaurants then this is the place for you
• Lively and so big you are almost guaranteed to get a seat at any time of day
• It's definitely a place to go with a large group so you can share different meals
• They led us upstairs to our table and wow was I amazed by the sheer amount of memorabilia displayed on the walls
• S corny and there are so many things you couldn&rsquo
• So we flipped our table license plates from Run Forrest Run to Stop Forrest Stop so our waitress would know we were ready to order

• The dip was great and tasted just like the spinach and artichoke dip that is available at so many restaurants back home which I can&rsquo
• I was excited to try the mac and cheese and although it was good the cheese was greasy and gritty
• As a result I was disappointing with this particular dish as I hoped for so much more
• The strawberry drink was a weird combination but tasty and certainly strong
• The real star was the Alabama Southern Punch
• T hold back with the alcohol

• T like the slaw we have back home which is made up of cabbage and lots of dressing
• The fries are average as they are nice and crisp but nothing special
• The same goes for the fried fish which was lovely and tender but as far as fried white fish goes

• M not sure if I just happened to get a less than perfect batch but the middle was too gooey and you could still taste the cornmeal
• D be interested to try them again to see if this improves as the exterior was cooked well and was delicious

• I should also mention I was brought the wrong dips and had to ask for some tartar sauce because it&rsquo
• As the theme of the night was overindulgence we got a dessert
• The strawberry dessert was tasty with a lot of potential but just managed to come out average
• I was hoping for more of a strawberry short cake but it was too much biscuit and not enough strawberry

• D say this is a smart choice because it is definitely geared more for tourists
• I have to say the value for money is much better than I would have thought for a place that makes its bread and butter off tourists

• Essentially the portions are big enough to share the starter and desserts so you could have a three course meal for two for including a drink each for £
• Upon arrival we were told a wait of an hour and a half

• The fish was flavourless and over compensated with a thick buttery lobster sauce
• A friend and I remembered that Central London on a Thursday night without a table reservation is very different from anywhere else
• We hurried off towards Leicester Square with our fingers crossed
• We only had to wait for about 10 minutes in the gift shop downstairs until a table was available upstairs
• They have the best system of getting service where if you&rsquo
• T bothered while you were eating which can happen in some restaurants
• We had a great big booth which could have sat 8 people all to ourselves which is very rare to find in London as most restaurants try to squeeze as many people in as possible
• They also have these awesome little ping pong bats with all of the cocktails listed
• T really decide what we wanted which came with Bubba&rsquo
• T really know what we were ordering but were happy when it came
• The spicy chicken strips were amazing but I wasn&rsquo
• With all the toppings as we were a bit fished out
• The meat was cooked to perfection and the fries were good but nothing special
• The service was amazing and the staff so helpful
• The restarunt was really nice inside fit the the forest gump theme well
• The food was lovely but my fav was the new Orleans shrimp with jasmine rice that was amazing

• I ordered Forrest's Seafood Feast which was really good
• This restaurant is the embodiment of American customer service
• The staff there were absolutely amazing
• My girlfriend had the platter which came with numerous fish foods and other bits and pieces
• The cocktails were great and you get to keep the glass as an awesome little memorial
• It is a bit pricey and the food isn't Michelin star but you pay for the experience and in my opinion it is worth every penny
• As we showed up we were greeted by a cheery assistant who explained to us that when you reserve a table you don't reserve it under a name but instead under the name of your favourite film
• So naturally we were Batman but it was great hearing others getting called as they waited
• This instantly set the tone of how fun and interactive the restaurant was going to be
• I thought by going there we will get an American meal with the American feel
• The salad had lots of wilted greens with two slices of pear

• Half of the tables were empty with lots of employees walking around and doing nothing
• As we were wondering around Chinatown we bumped into Bubba Gump Shrimp and Mr D was ecstatic and of course we had to go in

• Everything is decorated in a way which reminds you of Forrest Gump (yes that&rsquo

• The drinks menu are really original and if you order a cocktail you'l get to keep the mixer
• The shrimps are the highlight of course
• I really enjoyed the only point is that I found a bit overpriced

• I try to avoid gimmicky places but the voucher was a perfect excuse to give it a go
• I am a huge Forest Gump fan so a themed restaurant around this film was always going to distract me from the food
• The staff were all so polite and attentive and always made sure we were never without despite how much the place was filling up
• The alcoholic ice tea I ordered was fantastic but unfortunately the non alcoholic ice tea ordered by my partner tasted awful and bitter
• I added sugar which rectified this but you could tell the alcoholic options were always chosen
• Cheese and onions were done well and the dessert platter completed the meal nicely
• We looked at the price of the items individually and I would say they are not worth the cost
• The food was passable it was not impressive and I would have been very disappointed if it was not a themed restaurant
• The ground floor is a shop selling theme retail products while upstairs is the restaurant area
• Bubba Gump in a nutshell is a theme restaurant based on the movie Forrest Gump
• First started in California and is now open in numerous locations worldwide

• This restaurant is a must go especially if you like seafood and movies as it's related to forrest gump

• The real let down is the level of staffing is appalling which means getting attention to order or get the bill or add to an order was very challenging
• The staff did their best I think but there's only so much they can manage
• The main plus point here is its super super close to the Prince of Wales theatre (we're talking 15 places away) so if you're going there
