In a building that was unmarked (apparently a sign is &ldquo
-
The seating is not going to encourage people to linger
-
By the time I visisted they had relented slightly on the menu flexibility and were offering a lunch menu with a sirloin at £
-
The high prices are explained by the quality of the produce
-
These Mediterranean red prawns are the Rolls Royce of prawns
-
Even in the markets of Italy they come with a price to match
-
On a menu outside Japan with the prospect that the description may actually be true
-
This version was from Gunma prefecture
-
Not overly marbled and certainly better than the wagyu beef from Australia and the USA that is usually to be found on expensive London dinner tables
-
It is not in the league of the best from Kobe or (even better) Matsusaka (16/20)
-
The ingredient quality is not in question
-
S one of the best meals I&rsquo
-
Fortunately those are two of my very favourite things
-
Dinner at Beast is never going to be a particularly cheap outing
-
Having fallen in love with the place on my first visit I was pleased to see it was just as good when I returned &ndash
-
Sure enough they were here in their numbers
-
You know there are some places you go to where things get out of control
-
Starters and sides are delicious and I'll get into those at some point but they are not the storyline here
-
We did both and it was a true team effort
-
Landing on plates never to be seen again as they were devoured with pleasure
-
The winner was the Norwegian King crab which ranks as one of the best seafood items I've had in London
-
It was exactly how crab was meant to taste and as delicious as the accompanying garlic butter was
-
Of course a meal of this quality doesn't come cheap and that is the case at Beast
-
I would say that Beast is worth going to if you have a bit of cash to splash and you're up for a quality feast
-
The meat is just amazing alongg with the portion size
-
The atmosphere is lovely and the servers were really friendly
-
So we decided to order the 2.3 kg lobster which woah was too big for me
-
Other than that the food was good well and the fries with truffles were delish
-
The dessert was donuts with cinnamon were so good
-
The range of cuts is also wider than any range I've seen
-
Though these are mostly served with groups of 3 or more in mind for sharing
-
Danish cuts were on offer at the evening of my dining there
-
The starters section is limited and lacking identity in it's creation
-
Crab and Foie Gras Gyoza (3/10) At 3 quid a pop you'd better be showing up with some cracking gyoza
-
The crab didn't taste stellar and the foie gras was nonexistent in its flavor
-
Prawn tempura (3/10) A really heavy hand on the batter as each piece of tempura had clumps of battery bites that were void of meat
-
The batter itself was also quite heavy and thick
-
I suspect that there was little to no carbonation in the batter
-
USDA prime ribeye (7/10) I think America makes the best steaks in the world
-
I think the lean to fat ratio is absolutely ideal in USDA prime and that Japanese Wagyu should be in a class all its own because it provides a totally different eating experience altogether
-
I do wonder how long the meat here is aged as it tastes quite young and I prefer to have as assertive a meatiness as possible on my steaks
-
Sprout hearts were also perfectly tasty and capable
-
I enjoyed my steak at Beast and certainly found the atmosphere that they were going for to be a nice enough way to differentiate itself from the crowd
-
Flat out better sides) at a price point that is only slightly higher
-
It's supposed to be one of the best spots to have an unforgettable steaks in London
-
Our chosen meat type was gone in terms of grams (it's the restaurant style and theme)
-
So we had to go with another recommended type of meat which the order taker suggested
-
We left with stomach ache which was not expected at all unfortunately
-
The crab legs are 200g and full of meat
-
The 800g chateaubriand was super super good
-
The chocolate mousse could be better but was still good
-
Than the medium steak with truffle fries was veryyyy delicious and finally the chocolate mousse with an espresso
-
I ordered the wagyu t bone steak and was amazed by its flavour
-
I ordered a second steak and was equally impressed by the flavour
-
The service is perfect and the staff is very friendly
-
Plain chips however were amazing and the semi freddo dessert was the best I&rsquo
-
One of the best places I have ever been to
-
The ambience and the decor are subtle (if darkish)
