  • The food is a little bland and was very disappointing

  • I had the special chicken Karachi which was so bad that I ended up leaving it

  • I had also ordered a Lamb Biryani which was an even bigger disappointment

  • The Biryani was served in a massive bowl which was more than half empty

  • The servers were very friendly and the decor is kind of hip

  • I went into Shezan on a Saturday night for dinner with a friend and it was a great experience

  • Even though it was a Saturday and very busy the staff were very friendly and attentive whilst serving our dishes very quickly

  • Lamb kebab and poppadums along with a range of sauces

  • The chicken pakora was very tasty and the poppadum with the mango chutney was also nice

  • I also had it with pilau rice and peshwari nan bread

  • My friend went for the Royal Biryani which was a mix of chicken

  • Overall it was a great experience and for a pretty reasonable price

  • The Shezan rice was really filling as it had all sorts of vegetables but my favourite thing

  • We filled our tummy with the papadums though I love spiced onions

  • Judging by how much food was left they didn't enjoy

  • It was tasty but then again they are both near enough curry experts

  • Especially Tawa Chk with Masala Naan

  • I'm so surprised with the negative reviews and low ratings on zomato

  • Shezan is a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous decor (minus the enormous pictures of Bollywood actresses on the wall)

  • The waiter was polite and made sure we got a table within the next 10 minutes

  • Everything was delicious and satisfying

  • Except the butter chicken which was slightly tasteless for what butter chicken normally stands by

  • The ambiance of the place is decent except the part where they have actresses pictures on the wall

  • I made a reservation as it was the day of Diwali but the restaurant wasn't crowded at all

  • They served us with the food within 15 mins of the order

  • Korma was the best and ofcourse the biryani

  • Paapadum was crisp and the sauce they served was really good

  • Apparently this a award wining 'curry house' in Edinburg and all I can say is that the Edinburg curry market could do with a little more competition

  • The servers are good (but when we had a small conversation with our server

  • We could see that he was later shouted at by the manager for wasting time)

  • We has also ordered the tarka dal which our server informed us was not yellow dal as its supposed to be

  • Not cooked properly so the spices were raw and left a bad aftertaste

  • It was served with rice but we were barely able to eat it since it was too dry to be mixed properly

  • Also one serving of dal and rice will not be enough for one person since the rice serving is very small

  • We had ordered a Naan with the chicken and that was huge

  • While calling for the cheque the manager asked about the food and I mentioned that the dal was terrible and I hardly ate it

  • Mind you it was he who asked first

  • Post my feedback he said they take feedback very seriously and in his 35years of service this is the first time anyone ever complained about the dal

  • I have been eating dal all my life too and can say with authority as a home cook too that this was the worst daal I had ever had

  • Asked the manager what we had and then basically just said that this is authentic punjabi cuisine and walked away

  • I'm not sure how this was taking feedback seriously

  • What was the point of looking at my bill value and his intention was just to have us leave by then

  • I'm assuming all he thought was another Indians trying to grab free food

  • A five pound bottle of water is a little much especially when it could be spent better

  • This was when I asked for regular water but he said this is what I asked for and opened the bottle before I could reply just wanting to add to the bill amount

  • Definitely don't go here if you're indian coz apparently no one is more racist than an outsider trying to show that he belongs)

  • I am from INDIA and we were in Scotland for 4 days in March 2017

  • Food in Shenaz is perfect and authentic Indian style

  • Perfectly prepared with Indian spice and juicy masala gravy

  • This was the first time we feel like we are eating in INDIA during our 15 days of UK tour

  • In short this is the best Indian restaurant among all nearby Indian restaurant

  • Bit expensive and service was prompt but not warm

  • I'm smiling as I write this because I looked and my last review was for Tandoori Mixed Grill and guess what

  • I asked for a hotter sauce than usual with mine and they happily made me an excellent vindaloo sauce

  • This is the fifth time I've left a review and I keep doing it because they really are a great place for an Indian meal

  • Last time our waiter was Deva who looked after us really well
