Reekie's Smokehouse (Old Town)

• Pulled pork is ubiquitous
• Reekie's Smokehouse is seeking to address that perceived market gap
• My only major concern is that this is a notoriously tricky location
• This full meat Scottish bbq restaurant was an absolute delight
• My husband and I ordered two meat tubs (pork ribs and the beef brisket) along with some fries sprinkled with meat dust
• Even the baked beans served along with the meal had meat
• Both the pork and the beef were cooked to perfection
• Very succulent with just the right amount of seasoning
• The restaurant also had its own variety of home made sauces that were absolutely
• With no place left in our stomachs we greedily packed back a marshmallows brownie and that too was very tasty
• Dropped in here with a big group for lunch and what a lunch it was
• We sampled a number of things my top tip would be to grab a bit of everything and mix it up with some of the beans and chips and the idyllic Irn Bru BBQ sauce simply divine
• It's good to see someone doing it with some flair at an extraordinarily reasonable price
• I came here couple of weeks ago for lunch with 3 other friends
• We had a Meatfeast and I must say it was a hell of a feast
• The only thing I missed was a little bit more vegetables but that's just my opinion
• If you consider yourself a fan of ripping an animals flesh from its bones with your bare teeth then I can heartily recommend Reekie's to anyone
• Are you someone with a carnivorous disposition
• If the answer is yes then you really should visit Reekie's
• The irn bru one was amazing on the pork and the whisky jerk went so well with the haggis
• The highlight of the meal was definitely the chips (fries)
• They were some of the best I've had anywhere
• Reekie's Smokehouse (Old Town) is easy to get to from the centre and has been open for about 18 months
• Craig and Felicity were welcoming but you could see that wasn&rsquo
• It was clear they had an enthusiasm both with regulars and tourist alike
• Everything about Reekies was so unexpected
• I thought it was more a restaurant
• With table service rather than a diner with counter ordering and collection and a place to recycle and clear your plates
• Nonetheless it is charming and you can tell that the owners
