Very nice busy little place with a warm and relaxed atmosphere
-
Even though it was quite a busy in the evening
-
Filled pasta with ricotta cheese and cooked in a cream and fig sauce with coconut and almonds
-
The prawns were absolutely amazing
-
Generally it was an amazing evening with beautiful food and excellent service
-
As we were already on the south side of the city we thought we would head down to Bruntsfield and see where was able to squeeze us in
-
We were shown to a table that was already clean and reset and offered the menu
-
Drinks were offered immediately and there is a decent selection of Wines and soft drinks
-
The service was very polite and efficient and I am pleased to say super duper friendly
-
By someone with the personality of a grey Tuesday in Mordor
-
Alternatively the staff are so friendly and chat so much
-
That service is slower than a particularly unenthusiastic sloth
-
At Papilio there seems to exist a rare breed that are capable of personality
-
The toppings were applied with a benevolent hand and if you could taste with your eyes it was delicious
-
Abundant slices of chicken breast cuddled up with fresh mushrooms
-
This was then topped with a quantity of Rocket that left the Pizza looking like a scene from Day of the Triffids
-
Again the attentive staff were quickly in to check all was well and refill my glass
-
Whilst I ploughed through my two halves of pizza with relish my friends less capacious belly struggled to cope
-
Again the friendly staff were on hand to offer to box up the left overs rather than let it go to waste
-
That special bit of stomach reserved only for puddings meant that my dining buddy was able to order the Tartufo Ice cream
-
The white and dark chocolate ice cream was coated in cocoa and liberally sprinkled with nut pieces
-
The restaurant is very family friendly and always seems to be buzzing
-
It felt like there were a lot of cans opened to make our meal
-
The restaurant is quaint and well situated
-
IT was busy and had a good atmosphere which is always positive
-
Very friendly Staff right from the start and made sure we were comfortable and waited for the remaining 2 from our group&hellip
-
We got some Focaccia Mozzarella for the table to kick things off and no one can argue that garlic bread is the 8th wonder of the world and adding melty
-
Our appetisers 4 of us opted for Calamari with a choice of tartare sauce or a chilli dip
-
Meaty and avoided that rubbery texture you get when it is over cooked
-
The tartare sauce was tangy and a great accompaniment
-
The chilli sauce was spicy and caused the sweats
-
Beautiful smoked salmon stuffed with prawns and covered in marie rose sauce
-
We also had Gamberoni Diavola devilish prawns packed with flavour and spice
-
Funghi Formaggi mushrooms stuffed with mixed cheese and oven baked with a golden breadcrumb finish and Parma Mozzarela &ndash
-
Salty parma ham with soft mozzarella cheese served with rocket
-
Tender Veal topped with parma ham and smothered in a sage and white wine sauce
-
All meat dishes are served mixed veg and potatoes
-
Pollo Milanese was ordered with a request for extra spice
-
Taglia Marinara was a pasta with a seafood party and everyone was invited
-
Risotto Rucola is a creamy risotto with a selection of prawns
-
A simple yet tasty chicken breast with onion &
-
Garlic served with a hefty portion of perfect broccoli
-
Cannelloni Ripieni was mixed meats stuffed into the cannelloni and blanketed with a bé
-
Course Pizza was ordered&hellip
-
One with Salami and the other the restaurants special with mozzarella
-
Good thin and crunchy pizza with a good topping size
-
This of course was all washed down with more beer and the usual good chat that comes with food club
-
There seemed to few birthdays at the restaurant and with everyone joining in with Happy Birthday and watching the cakes arrive to their tables
-
Simple chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce
-
Tartufo which is delicious ice cream with nuts and chocolate
-
Good old Tirimisu and Copa Amaretto with a lovely shot of the almond liquor
-
We had a good night and It was enjoyed by all
