The Fountain (Fountainbridge)

• If you're off to the cinema or after somewhere to laze away a Sunday afternoon here is definitely the place
• It's decor is lovely and has a pretty chilled atmosphere
• The Fountain is definitely somewhere we don't visit often enough
• Dining area is smaller but tables very well placed and does not feel like you intrude into someone else's space
• ( I'm talking about when you end up sitting back to back with a stranger and having to play that shuffle in shuffle out game with your chairs)
• Sundays roasts are a particular specialty
• 30pm and we were still given a lunch menu which was delighful
• I only felt like having a main course though so I went for the seabass with mussels and chorizo
• This was very good and it was accompanied by potatoes
• I also ordered a side of green salad which was very tasty and well dressed
• I was drinking chenin black which was a very nice wine
• The service was friendly and they dealt with a group of 7 very well
• I guess it was a quiet time for them as well since there were only 2 other tables at that time
• Cor of the place and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was
• We arrived at around half 2 and were still given the lunch menu which was great value
• The service was friendly and fast and I will definitely be back for dinner and drinks soon
• Their red curry based dishes when on the menu are absolutely stunning
• Always find it a tough decision to pick from the specials or the main menu as everything is always so good
• Ordered the beef pie which was lovely but had a big holder inside the pie which I presume is to keep the pastry up
• Would have been helpful to be warned about this when the dish was brought out
• Really disappointed with The Fountain (Fountainbridge) in terms of food
• We were staying at Fountain court on the canal and this was a short 5 10 minute walk
