Eteaket (New Town)

• Inside we found the tea house adorned with their range of teas
• Our waitress was lovely and went out of her way to give us a background into eteaket and to explain their teas to us
• The Chai wasn't the best I have had but the cake and the general ambience of the cafe more than made up for it
• Very pretty place with a very good selection of tea
• Being both packed with tables and somewhat underground it can get stuffy and steamy when full
• I've never managed to eat any as the gluten free offerings are always sold out superfast
• Consisted of half a sandwich with a fruit scone
• It was nice to see this because sometimes afternoon tea is just too much food
• The door was opening non stop with people coming in for tables and some groups were turned away because they did not have the capacity to accept them
• Each one comes in its own teapot with a brew timer for the perfect strength
• The tea leaves are in a removable basket so
• I have never seen strainer baskets like that before and I was tempted to buy one on our way out
• Our lunch arrived fairly quickly and our sandwiches were on soft bread with lots of filling
• The scone came with a pot of jam and a pot of clotted cream but could have done with being a bit softer
• Before zomato the only coffee place I knew was Starbucks and Costa
• I found this cute place on the app and I thought I'd try it out with my good fashion/events buddy Farah Faz
• Mixed with the best coconut cake
• The range of teas and accessories is fantastic and the guidance on the back is great
• The food we had was disappointing though
• I am completely in love with their Bollywood Chai tea latte (I had the soya version)
• Their cakes are divine too
• You cannot go wrong here if you want an afternoon catch up with an old friend
• The only problem I have is that I'd love it to be bigger so I could always be guaranteed a seat
• A friend suggested we meet there for some catching up over tea and cake and I was more than happy to oblige and try this cute little tea place
• The tea options were fantastic I want to go back and try all of them
• I'm tempted to think that's because this was on a very busy Saturday afternoon
• We never felt rushed to leave even though there was a cue waiting
• I am on a mission to find the best scones in Edinburgh and I started here
• Eteaket (New Town) is my absolute favorite
• They have a small cute outdoor seating area too which I usually prefer for people watching with my cuppa tea and their yummer sweet treats ♡
• Only bad thing is the service
• None of them were appetising
• Everything was cold even though the food was on the table in 10 mins
• The only good thing was the service and the crockery
• Visited the cafe with a lot of expectations after reading the reviews
• The French toast was so dry I couldn't have it even after covering it maple syrup
• Quiet cafe with lots of tea choices and some great cakes too
• Eteaket tea is stocked left right and centre by coffee shops across edinburgh
• This second experience was disappointing
• Each persons tea was served in individual colourful teapots and also were accompanied by timers to count down until the tea was brewed to perfection
• The scones were especially delicious (and gigantic
• If you're looking for a quiet place to have a catch up with friends or just a nice relaxing tea don't miss Eteaket (New Town)
• A few years ago Eteaket was beautifully decorated with lots of light coming in through the windows
• The tea is amazing and the eggs benedict was pretty good
• Coming here for afternoon tea is a nice way to feel pampered without breaking your wallet
• The chicken pesto sandwich was my favourite along with the chai latte being the most incredible one to grace my tastebuds
• Overall the experience is recommended
• This little cafe/tea place is truly a must for all tea lovers
• We enjoyed it a lot and were really happy with the whole experience
