Manchester House (Deansgate)

• We made our booking for the first Friday evening service of Manchester House some time ago when bookings were first released
• I must admit when the price for the tasting menu was announced at £
• Being new it was inevitable that the restaurant would be still finding its feet
• When we reached the lounge the lighting was pretty dark which made reading what was on the bar menu a chore
• The Spring half term is always a watershed time of the year
• It was on a wave of such optimism that our visit to Manchester was booked in and
• Amidst our anticipatory questions about their experience we were entertained by the drama
• Small things done with great love Manchester House is the brave enterprise of Living Ventures owner Tim Bacon and Liverpool born chef Aiden Byrne
• S restaurant empire is considerable and very successfully based around themes and ideas
• That the dominant architectural style in any given town or city marks the point in time in which said town or city was at its most important and prosperous
• Whose perfectly preserved 15th century half timbered streets indicate the time in which the wool trade was at its height and it was one of the wealthiest parts of the country
• Cities that grew rich on the 18th century slave trade with the American colonies
• The demand for contemporary buildings lessened and we are left today with these perfectly preserved moments in architectural time
• From reception at the front door to departure we were treated perfectly
• The urban style is smart without being pompous
• We began with the tasting starters which were our highlight
• The tacos and the scallops were particularly of note
• The complimentary sweets were a beautiful way to finish and particularly the strawberry jelly
• I would recommend the whole dining experience to anyone and sincerely hope that we are able to return some time
• The menu has recently changed and is very different and innovative from the usual cafe lunch fare
• The restaurant is spotlessly clean
• I had ordered a starter of falafel with buffalo sauce and avocado not realising that this is a spicy sauce( I'm not good with strong spices) the manager obviously saw me struggling
• Came over and offered to replace the dish with one without sauce which was excellent
• My friend had a starter dish of baked camembert with a Slattery loaf as a main course
• I had grilled salmon fillet with fat chips excellent
