The Alchemist (Spinningfields)

• The staff is friendly and courteous and the cocktails are quite delicious
• The alchemist is a great up market bar I'm central Manchester with a drink for absolutely everyone
• Upon arrival and was promptly seated in one of the very comfy leather couches in the restaurant
• There are some geniuses who work behind the counter with alcohol as if it were chemicals in a laboratory
• The Ambient Light was a bit low for my liking
• The Alchemist is one of those
• So I was very excited when I was invited to try out their food menu this weekend
• So off I went to check out what they had to offer and I was more than impressed
• The Alchemist is wizardry when it comes to cocktails and the imagination
• Think molecular madness combined with handcrafted cocktails with ingredients that I have not even heard of
• The winner of the day was the Summer of Love
• A Grey Goose and chenin blanc creation combined with black grape and pink grapefruit liquer
• Really brilliant bar with plenty of choice for everyone

• The rating is all for the ambience and taste of food and the drinks (off course
• Had been here with friends for dinner
• Reservations are recommended before the visit
• Efficient and nothing is too much trouble
• Dim lighting throughout coupled with lots of old apothecary props gives this a really smart and intriguing atmosphere
• Bottle of wine served up in a chiller of dry ice was a fun unexpected touch
• Food was good too as was the service
