Yas (Kensington)

• I had often walked past and ogled the clientele who are a strange mix
• Fashion tv plays on televisions dotted around the restaurant and the massively over done waitress with a lot of cleavage on show reminds me of something from the Jersey Shore
• This restaurant is quite renowned and generally highly rated
• Great for Shisha and seating area outside very nicely decorated the food is satisfactory but nothing mind blowing
• I recommend if you want to sit with friends have some tea and smoking Shisha and have some light nibbles it's a pleasant place to go
• Having a minimum spend when the place is empty makes no sense at all
• Yas used to be a tiny cosy place with decent food
• They've increased the size of the restaurant but have managed to fill the space with cheap garish decor
• The restaurant was half full but we had to wait for over 10 minutes just for the menu
• In the meantime there were four waiters having an argument with a customer over their bill
• A group of 15 people turned up and they were refused as there weren't apparently enough staff to cater
• The thing that put me off the most was the open kitchen
• The portion was quite large
• In the end it was overpriced OK food in an alright environment with pretty bad service
• It wasn't ridiculous and I was kind of expecting a coma inducing mega wrap
• Also the sandwich they claim is huge really isn't and comes with nothing
• There is an egyptian waiter or Shisha guy who is more than rude
• He is rude to the point that my friends and another group were discussing why is he being rude while we were nothing but nice to him
