Wellington Lounge - InterContinental London Park Lane (Mayfair)

• The ambiance was relaxed and lazy just like I wanted it to be
• I went there with a friend on Sunday Afternoon
• What I really liked was their carefully selected tea list
• The coronation chicken with mango was great
• I did feel the Honey roast lamb with Mustard sandwich dint have that Wow factor at all
• The scones with clotted cream was my favorite
• The clotted cream was delicious and went really well with the strawberries preserve
• The best dessert was Coffee mouse with walnut torte
• So that is where is they fell short
• The sandwiches were all completely vegetarian and showcased seasonal vegetables
• As all the sandwiches were served open
• My favourite was the smoked aubergine with roasted piquillo pepper and celeriac
• All the other ladies pronounced the thyme roasted butternut with balsamic caviar and fresh dill their favourite
• We all also enjoyed the bread topped with basil marinated Manouri cheese and cucumber and apple relish
• The only one I wasn't quite so keen on was the nettle marinated asparagus rolled in courgette ribbons
• It was a little dry and the asparagus was quite hard
• The sandwiches at the guiltless tea were delicious and made a lovely change
• After all this is the 4th tea I've been to in a month so it's great to try something different
• I feel it's one of London's best afternoon teas for the price and food quality

• The furniture is super comfy
• I was lucky to be invited to try the new Scents of Summer Afternoon Tea which the hotel has partnered with Floris London
• The afternoon tea opens with a Wheatgrass Palate Cleanser (was unsure of this however its pretty tasty) and then beautiful sandwiches
• The gluten free sandwiches are lovely and the pinwheel sarnies for the normal afternoon tea look beautiful
• The scones have been made smaller as the afternoon tea is rather fulling however they will replenish if you still feel hungry after the pastries
• The gluten free scones were a tad dry but the beautiful jams
• Curds and butter were just what the doctor ordered
• The pastries are stunning and are in keeping with the summer floral theme and there isn't too much of a variation between the gluten free and normal pastries
• Highly recommend visiting and if you are lucky you might get the very passionate Luigi who loves afternoon tea just as much as I do
• The Intercontinental Park Lane is located just below the bottom left corner of Hyde Park
• The interior is elegantly done and reminiscent of it&rsquo
• Even if all you did was drink a cup of tea or enjoy a glass of champagne
• A new limited edition Scents of Summer afternoon tea is available now and running until the end of September at the Wellington Lounge of the Intercontinental London Park Lane

• Celebrating the glory of the British summer with notes from Floris fragrances
• The more edible aspects were the real highlight for me
• I especially enjoyed the earl grey butter served with the fresh baked wholemeal scones (while a more flavourful than expected wild strawberry jam impressed as well)

• Began rather unexpectedly with a wheatgrass shot and instantly
• Until I realized that this shot was NOT coming out of the glass
• While the equally puzzled table beside us watched to see how we were drinking ours
• He reappeared with two of the smallest spoons in the world so we could scoop out the strawberry pearls and get our dose of greens

• Wellington Lounge at Intercontinental Park Lane brought back their chocolate themed afternoon tea this month and I was really excited to give it a go
• I was afraid there may be a chocolate overload but to my surprise it was balanced out very well and turned out to be one of the nicest afternoon teas I&rsquo
• They had teamed up with fellow event Partner Pimm's to create an Afternoon Tea that celebrated Her Majesty The Queen's 90th birthday and a lifetime dedicated to service

• The floral displays were incredible
• T take any photos of this as I felt a little awkward snapping away whilst people were enjoying their holidays

• Pink peppercorn on thyme chicken bound in mayonnaise and cucumber served on tomato bread and lastly Honey roast butternut squash with crumbled feta cheese served on spinach bread
• Some of these were flavours I had never tried before and I was highly impressed
• These wereSultana and wholemeal scones with wild strawberry jam
• We finished up with the largest desert platter I have ever seen
• Was filled with Rose water and pink peppercorn jelly and wild strawberry mousse served in a chocolate &ldquo
• The service was the best service I&rsquo
• The ideas and flavours were out of this world and the venue was beautiful
• S like they knew Penny and I are massive car fans letting us sit by the window to watch the incredible cars go by outside
• In which I get to relax and socialize with my friends while enjoying seasonal delicacies and the finest choices in British tea
• The Scents of Summer Afternoon Tea at the InterContinental Park Lane was exactly what afternoon tea should be
• I was surprised at how much care was put into how the courses of the Scents of Summer Afternoon Tea were served
• Thought it paired nicely with a warm cup of tea
• One of my friends was partial to the grapefruit tart and violet cream
• The tea service was delightful
