It's a favourite of city boys who descend in their hundreds upon it after work to enjoy the good range of decent beer which is to be had at the roomy bar

Around side is a good outdoor area with seating

The feel is of the traditional London pub sort with some thoughtful decorative details

The food is good if not cheap (the Lyceum Tavern next door's your best bet for cheap pub nosh) and the dining rooms are large and comfortable

We had a slow roast (best i had so far) and fish'n chips and both were quite good

Tried the fish and chips that were good as all other dishes needed a minimum of 20 minutes to be served

So might not be your best choice if in a hurry
