Tuttons (Covent Garden)

• One afternoon me and my partner were out for movie and decided to dine at Tuttons
• Professional and the staff was really friendly
• We also had couple of our friends with us who also enjoyed the food a lot and enjoyed the experience
• They are relatively fussy with their food but had no complaints
• I would give 10 on 10 to Tuttons (Covent Garden) as the presentation of the food and service was just fab relative to the other restaurants
• S now serving a fresh new menu that deserves pride of place in what is now one of the capital&rsquo
• S and The Opera Tavern are literally round the corner)
• Group MD Hugh Fowler was on hand to run through what had changed and what improvements had been made
• Which Covent Garden Piazza is undoubtably one
• Something that Hugh is aiming to change&hellip

• The amount of money you pay the food is decidedly average
• You can imagine how excited I was last week when I was contacted to review the restaurant
• The restaurant was already packed
• I was immediately impressed with the array of options on the menu that were good for those who eat gluten free
• The Dedham Vale Beef Carpaccio with watercress and parmesan shavings
• I had no idea it was a real delicacy
• Leek and white wine sauce with matchstick chips
• I learned from the website that these two rooms in the basement are called Vaults
• This Covent Garden location was filled with a rock star crowd
• Our experience was truly wonderful because of our server
• The service was very friendly and our food came very quickly
• The experience was fairly enjoyable but couldn't really justify visiting again mainly because it's fairly poor value for money
• The specials were excellently festive
• The prices are a little high for my usual tastes
• It also suggests that Tuttons is aiming at the predominantly tourist market fair enough for such a tourist centered area
• With stand out dishes on the menu including Kentish roasted beets with goat's cheese &
• Beetroot mousse and Dingley Dell braised belly of pork with bubble &
• You feel right at home with the dishes on offer
• We were offered bread which was free (a great touch)
• The basket has three types of soft bread with wonderfully crisp exteriors and rich butter
• I went with the Seared scallops with crispy bacon
• Wild mushrooms with a Cornish crab &
• Pigeon and game then pork belly with bubble and squeak and red wine juis
• The scallops and puree were wonderfully sweet and soft
• The delicate flavour balance was complemented by the excellent mix of textures
• The piccalilli that was served alongside it was sharp and really amped up the whole dish
• My sea bass boasted two fillets which was a nice surprise
• Just a slice of the fish alone was a joy to eat
• That aside it was wonderfully smooth and the little leek surprises were a nice touch
• The star of the show was Alex's pork belly
• So much that you could cut through it with a spoon and worked excellently with the red wine juis
• The red wine juis was absolutely stunning
• The bubble and squeak was a fun choice of carb and gave a novelty touch to the dish
• This perfectly British dish was finished with crisp green beans which brought colour
• Our waiter was particularly attentive and thoughtful
• The interior is dark with lots of wood featuring and has an upmarket
• I ordered the beef carpaccio for starter and it was flavoursome and well presented
• I chose half a dozen oysters for my main and these were pretty average
• Nothing was bad but neither was anything exceptional
• The service was swift and pleasant
• I'd say check Tuttons (Covent Garden) out if you are in a group (good atmosphere) and have a discount card
• Cheese board desert washed down with a couple of bottles of reasonably priced Malbec
• Surprisingly the crowd in her are a mixture of mature diners and younger dressed up types having cocktails
• A brasserie bustling feel with high ceilings
• Not enough tables and a weird layout which leaves folk standing with their drinks in the walkway between the main entrance and passage to the restaurant
• The lavender drink was mindblowing (highly recomended)
• I started my meal with the Roast Butternut Squash Risotto
• Leeks and spinach puff pastry had this amazing creamy sauce with pine nuts and raisins
• The chocolate we had was delicious and the cheesecake was great
• The location is ideal and the ambiance is so nice
• I enjoyed a lovely lunch with my children at Tuttons
• Their plates were completely finished and both children gave the food 5 stars out of 5
• With sunny weather light salad beetroot with goat cheese and sauvignon white wine
• I like Tuttons (Covent Garden) and the ambiance with people around and music
