Thai Silk (Southwark)

• The food served at Thai Silk is authentic thai
• An outer area with a lot of greenery
• When i was dining at this restaurant my friend spoke with the waiter in thai
• The food itself is above average
• The prices are reasonable (cheap for me because i always go with a tastecard)
• The ambiance is nice and its usually quite full
• We have dined here before with one booking using more than one tastecard and had no problems
• When attempting to book for 8 people using 2 cards I was told categorically no
• Hence separate bills) I was then greeted by utter distaste and an even less welcoming tone than the previous employee
• Totally disrespectful and downright rude service I was neither impertinent nor did I raise my voice
• I was trying to ascertain WHY she was refusing to make 2 bookings next to each other and in essence refusing our custom
• Having been a restaurant host in a huge London restaurant I can safely say there is never any cause to speak to customers this way
• Without tastecard it's overpriced and mediocre at best (try a more authentic Thai restaurant like Mama Thai off the Walworth Road if you want delicious food and humble service
• Getting past the booking stage with a tastecard is evidently too big an ask for their inarticulate and arrogant staff and definitely not worth the hassle
• All I had was drinks so I can not comment on the restaurant as the main point of going to Thai Silk was for the bar
• They have a great environment which is lively and joyful
• Their drinks are reasonably priced as well
• I went there once with friends to have a light lunch
• At that time I only ordered some fresh noddles with vegetables as I was fasting
• We had fun as the venue plays good music as well and in the combination with food and great customer service
• The experience was quite good
• In regards to the bar and drinks they're reasonably priced and their cocktails are pretty good
• I believe the reason for it becoming so busy is the great music they play
• The only thing that downgrades the place is their bar cum club section
• Coats and bags are mishandled and drinks are served in plastic cups
• The overall experience is thus disappointing
• Thai Silk (Southwark) in my opinion is a really appropriate location to celebrate occasions like birthdays and large group treats and the service here is very conducive to such large gatherings
• The menu too offers a great range of dishes and the taste in general too is quite delicious
• I do not quite understand their experience when i had such a great time with my partner here
• In fact the Thai food that is served here is prepared with great care and the ingredients are super fresh
• The service too is pretty standard

• We had a discount card at the restaurant that was also not honored by the management
• This is a nice place with some yummy food
• The service charge is additional and is levied on your final bill
• Only complaint is less rice quantity haha
• Thai Silk is not the best Thai restaurant in London
• Well tucked away behind Southwark station are a row of restaurants and bars in the arches under the railway line
• Thai silk serve pretty decent Asian food with a variety of choices available on their menu
