St John's Tavern (Archway)

• St John's tavern is a great place for an evening catch up with friends and a meal over the weekend
• The restaurant is divided into two part
• Amazing food St John's Tavern (Archway) is perfect for any foodie
• I came here with a group of four and we had a booth table in the back which felt private even if you were next to another booth
• The service was great they always seemed to be there when you needed them
• The setting of the tavern is sophisticated and yet has that understated pub feel to it
• You can sit out the front and just have gastro pub grub or go into the back dining room which is adorned with the multiple blackboards with the menus and specials
• We started our meal with the idea of trying things we had never had so we had black caviar to start
• Not too fishy and perfect with the accompanying sauce
• I will admit I have had polenta many times before and this paired with the goats cheese was perfect
• The waitress we had was very knowledgeable when it came to the wines and brought a perfect paired wine to the meal
• Sadly by the end we were too full to even look at the dessert menu but everything on it sounded amazing
• What I will say is you do walk out feeling perfectly full and not craving something to eat when you get home which is always a plus
• This tavern is a perfect place for any foodie and you won't regret it at all
• Accompanied with mash a sauteed brussel tops
• The last order on the table was hare papparadelle
• Very tasty but pasta was on the soft side for my taste
