Sidi Maarouf (Marble Arch)

• Sidi Maarouf is located in the London home of the Middle East &ndash
• Boasts a stunning interior with draped silk ceilings
• The menu features a variety of traditional dishes from Morocco with names in Arabic and English
• Initially our waiter was quite haughty and reserved
• We were then passed to a different waiter who was much more friendly and approachable
• Clearly the first one was having a bad day
• The wine was from Israel and beautifully balanced with sweet and sharp flavours
• The prawns were a little dry but bursting with sweet flavour
• The sausages reminded me of warm chorizo but with a big hit of garlic
• Wrapped in one of the flat breads with a little baba ganouj &ndash
• The chicken was gorgeously moist and soft (plus a very good size portion)
• The preserved lemon and olive sauce was something I am going to try to create again and again at home
• The potatoes were wonderfully soft but not crumbly
• In the evening we were treated to a belly dancer show
• The service is also great but this restaurant is slightly pricey but always great for a romantic date
• The service is absolutely terrible
• When we enter the restaurant it was almost empty and they said they are fully booked and they let us seat opposite from the entrance door
• The food was nice I can't say nothing against the food but really the stuff and the manager is disappointing
• After we went outside for shisha they waiter has warned us that we are allowed to seat and smoke shisha max 1.5h
• Choose somewhere else if you don't want to be infamous with your own money
• The shisha area (outdoor seating) is a little cramped and over crowded
• The entire road is full of shisha cafes
• Sidi Maarouf (Marble Arch) is prices at least 10 pounds costlier than other places
• Live music was good and the belly dance was good too
• The only let down was the rude waiters in the dining area taking the food orders
• The Manager was rude as well
• Top of my list are the chicken tagine &
• Loud but lively with diners randomly getting up &
• S rare I would vouch for restaurants but this is definitely one not to be missed
• The Tagine lamb and chicken are mouth watering and the homemade fruit juice are exceptional
