As my partner had just finished her 5 day juice diet we were looking for a restaurant to ease her back into solid food
-
It has only been open for 4 months so we were keen to find out if it lives up to the high standard set by those now erstwhile others
-
The outside was really nicely done and the garden part was welcoming
-
We were early so it was quiet but it had a San Francisco feel to it
-
As this is a raw and vegan restaurant there are innovative solutions to overcome the &lsquo
-
It was good to see classic cocktails being done with innovation and without alcohol keeping with the theme
-
What was missing however from both the drinks and food menu was a proper explanation about what you could order
-
T 100% raw but it is good to know about the produce
-
As you can see from the pictures it was colourful too
-
It was so pretty and artistic which was such relief as so many vegan or raw places take the view that if you care about your health you don&rsquo
-
It was flavour first which is always a good thing in my book
-
My starter was beetroot falafel with a Thai basil BBQ sauce
-
The sesame encrusted falafel were rich and hearty with good flavour and texture
-
We also shared cauliflower samosas served on a bed of mango chutney with swirls of wasabi agave mustard
-
As for trying them with the mustard forget any other flavours
-
M not sure why it was there as it was way to powerful for this dish and I felt it just didn&rsquo
-
The main I went for was green papaya &lsquo
-
The papaya was cut to look like pasta and had a firm texture being just barely cooked
-
It was subtle and I loved the flavours with the odd piece of shitake mushroom entering the mix
-
I thought it was odd that they served you soda bread before your meal when they had spelt and sweet potato bread on the menu which would have been a better choice
-
It was lovely and it was a hard choice as there was so much I wanted to try and wished they had a raw taster plate
-
Maybe a tad too heavy for me with the almonds as I was coming off a juice fast and maybe a bit too sweet for a main
-
I would order it again and recommend it so those factors were simply minor and probably to taste
-
Was probably the weakest dish out of the lot as the cauliflower was tasteless and almost missing and way way too much pastry
-
T all that enamoured with so it is a taste experience after all
-
S main was probably the best of the lot
-
The service was fine albeit a little slack considering there weren&rsquo
-
I think in the absence of SAF which was my ultimate raw food restaurant this is a brilliant &lsquo
-
Even though they probably were trying to be attentive
-
T survive unless people use them and I think more of a fuss needs to be made of such a venue with such a wonderful delectable menu
-
S refreshing to go somewhere that offers something different and raw restaurants are few and far between
-
Whether you are vegan or raw or either
-
S Raw restaurant (that is the name) because you will feel satiated and feel like you have been on a very stimulating food adventure
-
So RAW at LA Suite West is a great new addition to the London food scene
-
You could always catch me having tea somewhere cute with my girlfriends
-
I am here to tell you that not only is it just as delicious
-
La Suite West is a boutique hotel which is one of the latest designs of Anouska Hempel&rsquo
-
We were greeted with welcoming smiles and escorted to the RAW restaurant which is where the afternoon tea is hosted
-
The RAW restaurant was full of daylight and Japanese inspired
-
It was so fragrant and delicate which was just like sipping a bouquet of jasmine (another thing I am slightly obsessed about
-
Grilled Portobello mushroom with basil pesto and cherry tomato
-
(they should have removed the intensity of the onions as it was a little overpowering)
-
So as I took a bite I knew from that point I was going to have onion breath
-
I then tried the not so tasty looking scrambled tofu with spicy guacamole
-
The colourful red butternut squash with cream of artichoke and truffle which was sweet and filling
-
I was happy with the portion and the size of the finger sandwiches
-
The scones are flatter than the normal &ldquo
-
We cut them in half and put a huge blob of whipped coconut cream inside with some fresh strawberries on top
-
T finish all of them as I was already getting pretty stuffed at this point
-
I knew there were still some raw cakes left to taste
-
As we laughed and chatted away with endless top ups of jasmine tea we were presented with the last platter of our delicious and healthy afternoon tea which were the cakes
-
That came beautifully presented with edible flowers sprinkled on top
-
T too big nor was it too tall
-
The texture was very much like the real cakes and had a hint of coconut in it and we couldn&rsquo
-
The next little dessert which was beautifully presented
-
They are made with nothing but some nuts
-
The final mini slice was nutty and zesty
-
The food was fresh and well made by a chef which you can tell takes pride in his work as the presentation was impeccable as I am a real fan of my food being Instagram picture worthy
-
Yes I could have had more desserts as they were simply not enough
-
It was safe to say we were very full and very satisfied with our experience at the Raw restaurant
-
The papaya papardelle main and cauliflower samosa starter are delicious and yummy complimentary truffles to round off our meal make it even more enjoyable
-
There are a few places in London but this was the only one who could offer dairy free options for a decent price
-
) posts and trying to stay somewhat on topic for the general public (although my Christmas recap is still not up
-
When a lot of us are trying to balance out the December indulgences
-
If you want to go for a meal out but are still digesting all that cheese and chocolate
-
It's not exactly easy to spot and the atmosphere is a little quiet
-
Others started to arrive and the place warmed up the service was very friendly and the menu quite extensive
-
We chose the raw sushi with radish "
-
The aubergine with wasabi cream
-
The raw crackers with a kind of hummus
-
We were quite impressed with everything I don't know whether it was because I was a little apprehensive
-
Not too full for dessert though the warm chocolate fudge cake with coconut sorbet was seriously decadent without being sickly
-
There are a couple of other similar places C and I are wanting to try out
-
We weren't even sure it was a restaurant when we arrived the room is so weird
-
They started setting up for breakfast while we were still there having dinner way to rush your customers out
-
The restaurant is located in a hotel and we had to ask the staff where the restaurant was on three different occasions
-
Only one other table was occupied on a Sat night and there was no waiter we literally waited 20 mins for the one single waiter to come and serve us
-
Items were missing ingredients stated in the menu eg the mushroom soup was supposed to have buckwheat noodles
-
Most appalling was the £
-
Located inside boutique hotel La Suite West (just over the road from Bayswater tube station) visitors are greeted at the front desk with a complementary smoothie of the day &ndash
-
The outside seating area is peaceful and relaxing
-
The afternoon tea itself is priced at £
-
My favourites were avocado chilli mousse with rocket and roast tomato with sunflower seed pesto
-
The hummus on gluten free bread were surprisingly moreish
-
I would never have guessed that the cheese in the filo pastry bites with asparagus was actually made of almonds
-
It was unanimously agreed amongst my group that the highlight were the scones &ndash
-
Homemade and served with strawberries and whipped coconut &lsquo
-
The desserts were also surprisingly good &ndash
-
The sticky toffee and chocolate fudge cake bites were decadent and as good as any dairy version I can think of
-
The mini squares of lemon cake topped with cacao cream
-
M going to kick it off with one that&rsquo
-
This time around however it was a similar story
-
I understand what a vegan is and actually I can see why people become one or are one &ndash
