Piquet (Fitzrovia)

• S a ground floor bar which is dark and sexy
• The Fir Room is a more relaxed affair

• The standout plate (or rather bowl) was a comforting Casserole of Cod Cheeks
• A charming host and knowledgeable sommelier who kept us in line with several fine wines (and a sherry)
• The classy decor and straightforward dishes resplendent with punchy flavours make Piquet one of my favourite restaurants in a city where&rsquo
• The restaurant is split into two floors
• S unlikely any blogger would deny themselves the opportunity to get material for a new post unless the food is truly quite extraordinary
• The dining room downstairs is contrastingly rather warm and charming
• We were served some breadsticks with anchovy mousse to start with whilst we perused the menu
• He then introduced himself and I picked up the last place that he worked for was at Plateau in Canary Wharf
• The main restaurant is downstairs where it is more formally dressed with table cloths
• Is brightly lit and where tables near the open kitchen are most popular
• Is it furnished more to a pub style and is more casual
• The prices of the dishes are not indicated in this instance because portions are customised to our group

• Piquet charcuterie board consist of country style terrine with pistachios
• My favourite was the rillette which took me by surprise because I am not normally fond of duck meat
• The meat patty was so moist and flavoursome
• The little burgers looked a little plain along with the other spreads but are a serious contender
• Desserts were not anything more fanciful than the good old brownie with ice cream and a slice of the non too sweet almond tart
• Accompanied with a dessert cocktail
• I don't know how to recommend on what to order because everything we had was just splendid and I would not not want to leave anything out
• Flavours of the food were strong but left the palate quite clean so even without much carbohydrate
• I can vouch again that he is definitely a feeder chef
• The menu is fairly straight forward with a la carte and all day set menu choices
• Piquet is a restaurant situated in the heart of Fitzrovia that is supposedly the first of its kind
