  • Petersham Hotel is almost intimidating as you approach

  • The gardens are well manicured and it's location allows for seamless views across Petersham Meadows and river Thames

  • It took almost 20 minutes before we got our beverages by this time it was past our dinner booking

  • Things perked up when we were moved to the dining area

  • You could mix options with their summer menu which gave more rounded options

  • There were a few inconsistencies between the menu and what was plated but in all fairness they did warn on their website that dishes may be changed at short notice

  • The tongue was served with roasted pepper

  • The other starter was Brochette Salmon with smoked haddock

  • Tender fish with a wicked smoky charcoal burn on the outside of the Salmon

  • The tongue was delicate and both starters I felt were very well executed and tasty

  • The presentation of the salmon was not as delicate but I do like how the seaweed adds to the dish

  • The facilities in the hotel are of very high standard

  • The mushrooms with deep intense earthy flavour

  • The other mains from the menu were seared scallops

  • Scallops were replaced with Fish and Octopus

  • The octopus was served lovely and soft with crushed potato in a devilishly buttery sauce

  • A rich Chocolate Mousse with cherry in alcohol

  • The buttermilk Panna Cotta with Blackberry compote

  • Even then it is still a hefty amount

  • Featuring a restaurant with light pouring in and an atmosphere quite unlike anything you&rsquo

  • This restaurant setting was beyond beautiful

  • The menu was great but unfortunately 2 out of the 6 mains (mullet and rabbit) were sold out before we arrived at 2

  • The waitors felt nervous and were not attentive as they could have been we had to wait for quite a long time each time we wanted to order more wine/ food

  • As Hilary lives near Richmond it was the perfect place for a gossip and delicious lunch

  • My lasagne was exceptionally good

  • I took my Mum and sister on our way out of London for the Easter weekend and it was a complete success

  • Comes complete with thick cut salmon sandwiches

  • At the view of the Thames which inspired Turner to paint the meadows is always a joy

  • Despite the chill in the air the sun had been shining all day and was now slowly fading towards a beautiful sunset
