  • Paradise Garage is the third restaurant opening from chef Robin Gill

  • Unlike The Dairy and The Manor which are both south of the river in Clapham

  • As soon as I spotted Paradise Garage was officially open for business I cancelled reservations elsewhere and booked a Saturday lunch sitting

  • As we settled in for the afternoon we were treated to a complimentary cocktail and an appetiser of pea puré

  • Meant the tasting menu (made up of 10 separate dishes) was all ours for just under £

  • Even at full price there is no doubt I&rsquo

  • S a really cute space with turquoise banquettes round the edge and bar stools overlooking the open bar and kitchen

  • Run by the same cook who was at the helm of the highly rated Manor and Diary

  • I was there with three mates

  • Offal and scratchings with sauté

  • Fluffy pea mousse was brought to the table with radishes and their leaves (which I adore) and the thinnest potato crisps I've ever seen

  • This was quickly followed with bread served up with smoked whisky butter

  • ) The Real Greek on Hoxton Square was one of those places

  • I'd go there with mates for pre party feeding sessions

  • I ordered a few small dishes to sample to start with I had a taster plate of some of the dips

  • Garlic and lemon which was light and very tasty

  • Was htipiti Greek cheese blended with roasted peppers and chilli

  • What I really like about the dips at The Real Greek is they all taste so fresh and light

  • The flatbreads served with the dips were perfectly toasted with herbs and oil

  • Offal and rabbit bacon with sauteed chicory

  • Whether you are on a tasting menu or not

  • You get treated as such with little extras finding their way to your table

  • Snacks soon follow which are of a decent size

  • It must be clementine season as they are turning up everywhere

  • Toasted Buckwheat after Google tells me that Federia was one of 5 new cheeses to watch out for in 2012

  • Raw mature spinach leaves sprinkled with oily fried breadcrumbs

  • A chef arrives with a blowtorch and some mackerel (caught the previous day)

  • Promptly gets to work with no risk assessment form or health and safety officer in sight

  • Brown crab jus poured at the table is a nice touch

  • All of the crockery is magnificent

  • While Mum (the sensible one) is away from the table

  • We order an extra plate of pastry chef extraordinaire Kira Ghidoni's Spiced Pumpkin Tart with Creme Fraiche Ice Cream &

  • We succumb to coffees which come with a drawer of punchy Clementine &

  • You could keep costs down if you are well behaved

  • There's a masterclass this Autumn where you can learn how to make the best cocktails at the bar that's just recently been voted Best Bar in the UK by GQ Magazine

  • S Best Bartender Award at Tales of the Cocktails) is hosting a series of mixology masterclasses at the Connaught Bar

  • You'll be welcomed with delicious canapé

  • Salmon and caviar and beetroot on a cheese crisp which were all as delicious as they were pretty

  • You'll also have a welcome drink ours was a Champagne

  • Orange and ginseng creation and was the perfect balance of bitter

  • So not exactly far away now) saw more house parties than fine dining but as is always the way with up and coming areas

  • The good restaurants are quick to spot an opportunity

  • Paradise Garage is an ideal spot for soaking up the last of the spring and summer sun

  • The keenest bean to try small plates that are big on textures and flavours

  • Still warm sourdough arrived at the table along with homemade whisky butter and a taster of pickled beetroot that had the perfect bite and tang

  • We went for the latter (although were sorely tempted by the Tasting Menu at £

  • This is where the textures started to come into play with the artichoke as a foam and the meat studded lightly throughout to be mopped up all together with the bread

  • A little looser and wetter than we were expecting and the brown crab biscuit split on the plate but the fresh fennel brought it all together

  • From the 'Garden' section we ordered the portobello mushrooms with bagna cauda and raw turnip on rye

  • The stronger flavours of the cod from the 'Sea' section were the more memorable

  • We ordered cheese (can't take a French guy anywhere without having to judge the cheese plate) and the white chocolate parfait which was perfectly balanced by blood orange (a little less so by carrot)

  • Paradise Garage is housed under the railway arches on Paradise Row in Bethnal Green
