The Original Maids Of Honour (Kew)

• The cakes we ordered were so dry you could barely get any on your fork before it crumbled away and the scones came with a thimble full of jam and cream
• They melt in your mouth with the freshest of creams and jams
• They're so generous with their portions and not at all delicate
• Slow service and hard to get a table but the pies are delicious same as the famous maids of honour pastry
• We sat outside in their little courtyard which was just lovely
• Also sitting outside was a wedding party
• I thought it was such a nice location for an intimate little party
• Everything is baked on site and they only use the finest ingredients (free range and organic)
• The pastry was delicious and the filling was light and fluffy
• We then had mandatory tea with homemade jam and fresh cream scones
• Everything was served on decorative china cups and saucers
• Both of the female and culinary persuasion and the original Maids of Honour is a rather unique name for a tearoom
• Rumour has it that he came across Anne Boleyn with her ladies in waiting
