I went last Monday night with a friend for dinner and we chose the set menu which included a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne plus 3 courses
-
Its executive chef is Garry Hollihead
-
It can be seen that markup levels were far from kind
-
Champagnes were marked up proportionately less than the rest of the list
-
I asked which bakery it was from but the staff didn&rsquo
-
Despite my asking no one ever came back with an answer from the kitchen
-
This turned out to be the best thing we ate all evening (14/20)
-
A starter of asparagus with cauliflower
-
Mayonnaise and celeriac salt was surprisingly lacking in flavour
-
It did not help that the dish was bulked out with tasteless (but cheap) bamboo shoots
-
The best dish was bream with roast pepper and almond sauce and sauce vierge
-
The bream had reasonable flavour and was cooked fine
-
The tomatoes with it were tasteless
-
Goosnargh chicken with peas and broad beans was cooked all right though its skin was flabby
-
The thin cooking juices were the only attempt at a sauce
-
As was the case with the vegetables
-
Chips were fine but mash potato was lukewarm and again lacked any seasoning
-
Being freshly cooked were at least hot
-
The distinctly disappointing standard of cooking was about to get worse
-
The bread base was entirely dried out and hard
-
The service was well meaning but not very effective
-
I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend's family to celebrate two birthdays
-
The decor is beautiful and the service was excellent on the dinner occasion but lacking on the afternoon brunch experience
-
The Northall restaurant located in the grand Corinthia hotel is an impressive place serving great food that is slightly let down by patchy service
-
Whilst the staff are friendly they're not quite on the ball we asked for red wine and were brought white
-
We sent it back and were then presented with a different bottle to the one we'd asked
-
Yet not even a minute down the hall was a bar with an huge array of cognacs and brandies available
-
Mackerel tartar and rillettes is served with wasabi caviar
-
Cucumber raita ice cream and coriander and is simply amazing with the different flavours coming together and tasting fresh and light
-
Special mention for the bread rolls which are served warm and fresh and are dangerously moreish
-
It's served with summer vegetables and a fennel and marjoram broth and is the absolute highlight of the meal
-
Dessert the dark chocolate and walnut brownie is a bit too busy for my liking
-
Served as it is with a beetroot ganache
-
The brownie itself is deep and intensely rich
-
The images I had previously seen had always attracted me to The Northall - Corinthia Hotel London (Westminster) and with good reports from friends
-
Once our table was ready we were then lead from one amazing room to another
-
We were greeted by white table clothed tables with fashionable orange leather seats and huge windows letting in plenty of light
-
As we sat down we were handed the menu consisting of modern British cuisine which all sounded very exciting
-
Beetroot and radish with a raspberry and hazelnut dressing was a vibrant
-
Sweetness and sharpness with sticky gingerbread was a pleasing mouthful
-
The truffle was slightly overpowering for my liking
-
The shellfish bisque with crab and crayfish ravioli had an incredible aroma to it and tasted absolutely wonderful
-
Mains I had sea bass with confit octopus
-
The Lamb saddle with sweetbreads was another well executed plate of food
-
The lamb was pink and cooked to perfection with the minted jus and shallot puree intensifying the flavour
-
Rosemary and white chocolate parfait with a fig carpaccio and lemon jam made for a refreshing dessert
-
The sourness of the lemon was balanced perfectly with the sweetness of the chocolate
-
A silky cream cheese sitting on top of a deep chocolate brownie and accompanied with a walnut ice cream was gorgeous
-
The waiting team were brilliant and they definitely made us feel special
-
The sommelier was very knowledgeable of the vast wine list and selected some great tasting and very drinkable bottles
-
The whole experience was spectacular and if you enjoy dining out then this is a place that must be visited
-
Has a very intimate atmosphere and was a great way to end the evening
-
The huge ceilings are held up by imposing white columns
-
So after a rather quick discussion with Zoe from Love and Limoncello we decided to check out the gluten free breakfast on offer at the Corinthia Hotel in London
-
I went to James Court Hotel a few months back where I was treated to their own LP flight
-
The Corinthia Hotel is pretty impressive
-
The street that is synonymous with the Government of the United Kingdom
-
The lunch menu is always great value and the food is clean and quite delicious
-
Is always seasoned well and the texture is amazing with a side of chips
-
The pear sorbet that came with it was absolutely amazing
-
All washed down with a glass of champagne
