Nordic Bar (Fitzrovia)

• A nice friendly venue with a menu travelling around the whole of the Nordics
• Went very well with our lime and elderflower Kopparberg cider
• Smorgasbord is a very cool word
• Deep fried cheese (what is not to love about cheese which has been deep fried
• Apart from the cheese (which it goes without saying was fabulous) I also really liked the pickled herring
• It came in a kind of pickle y mayonnaise which was very tasty
• The crayfish tasted fresh and the potato wedges came with chopped rosemary and salt crystals
• Fried together and topped with a fried egg
• It was very nice and flavoursome with lots of seasoning (and someone tweeted me afterwards that it makes a perfect stomach liner before a busy night &ndash
• Other mains were meatballs and mash
• Came in an absolutely huge bowl and tasted of Ikea meatballs (which we all agreed was no bad thing)
• Atkins friendly it was most certainly not
• The portions at the Nordic bar are extremely generous
• I thought it was quite nice &ndash
• Best for a good night out with a group of friends I wouldn't fancy going there for dinner on a Friday night as I guess it would probably be full of drinkers
• Don't expect some massive food fest but do expect a nice choice of beers and food that is filling and faithful
• We'd just come back from Scandinavian climes and Nordic Bar (Fitzrovia) was great to see authentic beers and authentic food served
• Annoyingly we were doing the dryathlete stint in Jan so the Lapin Kulta could not be sampled (unlike when we were on holiday)
