The Meeting Bar & Restaurant (Enfield)

• Many moons ago this restaurant was located in the side annex of a pub
• We went mid week and when we popped our heads in to the restaurant it was absolutely heaving
• It was decorated with dark wood and red
• A host of staff who were super friendly and attentive who even greeted us by bowing and speaking Thai
• As soon as we sat down we were given the huge menus as well as an assortment of prawn crackers and spicy sauce
• This is what I went with in the end
• Stir fried chicken with garlic and pepper
• Considering the big flavours that are in Thai food
• Our plates were decorated with huge ornate flowers
• I noticed that my dish was really saucy
• I genuinely think the chicken to veg ration was a little tipped towards poultry
• Each spoonful was just overpowered by chicken &ndash
• The vegetables were still super crispy
• Speaking to the staff they were from Bangkok
• So their attitude and food was not faked in the slightest
• Starters went for the meeting bar platter which is a typical starter platter of spring rolls
• Very average with burnt toast and overcooked meats
• The massaman was excellent and reminded me so much of Thailand with its excellent flavours and reasonable portions
• Nice main courses but let down with the very average starters
• I'v been going to this seen it was southbury pub and it's always been good crowd and service is always amazing the Thai place is always been good
• Very busy and service was not very good
• Staff didn't know about alcohol strength even though there were only 5 beers on the drinks menu
• We received mains before the plates and cutlery was put on the table
• Food average musaman curry was very runny not thick and very little beef in it
• Salad main Yum woon sen was not worth £
• 9.50 3 prawns and miniscule pieces of chicken and almost inedible with the amount of chillies in the dish
