• The food here is outstanding and delicious to say the least
• The crowd is good and the pub is among my favorites

• Apparently renovation work has been focused on creating a separate more formal dining room downstairs that is not open yet
• Be warned that the little tables for four are quite a tight squeeze

• I had five tasty risolles flavored with dill and lemon served with a tangy tomato laced mayo

• My companion followed with plaice with grilled cucumber and mint
• Grilled pork shoulder with borlotti beans and mustard sauce
• The sauce was actually an incredibly meaty gravy with just a hint of mustard
• The house red was a very reasonable £
• The gentrification of Shoreditch is now so advanced and so final that even those that still privately bemoan the disappearance of the old working men's clubs

• It could have been the single number you were off from the winning lottery ticket or perhaps (as is more common for me) being the lucky recipient of that slightly diseased piece of meat
