Mabel's Bar & Kitchen (Covent Garden)

• The painters were still finishing some touch ups in the room downstairs
• T feel like I was being &lsquo
• It was the kind of meal I try to create at home when the weather is nice and warm and I want to eat outside
• My efforts at being good are totally rubbish
• As that crispy battered piece of haddock was begging to be snapped in half
• Our meal was rounded off with dessert I will always maintain that there is a separate stomach for pudding and so I went with the grilled figs with honey creme fraiche
• I loved that the figs were on the dessert menu
• I was also impressed with the chocolate brownie too dense
• You can never go wrong with a brownie for pudding&hellip
• Dessert was rounded off with my latest obsession Assam tea
• The restaurant opens at 10am for brunch and sails through the day with a selection of pub chic food
• Finishing up at 1am with drinks and dancing in the basement bar
• How could I resist anyway my Mum's old dog was called Mabel it was meant to be
• Eggs benedict or a full English washed down with a Bloody Mabel their take on the Bloody Mary using their own spice mix
• Despite going to Mabel's on a Tuesday post bank holiday it was busy and lively
• We started with cocktails a mojito for the boy which was punchy and not too sweet (I hate mojitos that are mainly sugar) and The Mabel for me (because how could I not
• ) The Mabel is a champagne cocktail made with St Germain elderflower liqueur shaken with mint &
• Peach bitters before being topped with Heidsieck Monopole Champagne
• I went here for brunch and although the place is lovely and very well decorated the brunch menu is very limited
• There are not a lot of options and there are mainly salty options
• The cocktails are also nice and the eggs Benedict were delicious
• A really nice bar with plenty of space
