  • Cor and although you would expect this restaurant in Mayfair it is still easy to get to

  • One guest had the set menu and I had the Sirloin Steak with Chips and peppercorn sauce with mashed potatoes and mushrooms and all perfect

  • So we started with Wensleydale cheese dumplings with butternut squash (a light

  • Then had Gressingham Duck breast and leg with creamed kale and Wiltshire truffle (all kinds of wonderful

  • Nuanced and rich with the flavours of late autumn) and finally Maldon salted chocolate and jasmine with sorrel (soft/crisp textures and chocolate/citrus balanced to world class effect)

  • The chips weren't bad either (my fav was the Wensleydale cheese)

  • D seen the hoardings around the old Coutts building with the word Taillevent plastered over them

  • T be something to do with the legendary Taillevent restaurant in Paris

  • Brand Taillevent was never going to venture into in the grungy gastropub arena

  • So you will not be surprised to learn that this is a formal brasserie

  • The structure of the menu is quite ingenious while being incredibly approachable

  • The dishes are listed with their recommended wines listed from left to right in order of price

  • Each glass of wine also comes with a little label with it's name on it so you can tuck it away for notekeeping if you wish

  • The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings and wooden floors (but remains at a very tolerable noise level due to a lack of music being played

  • The food itself is adequately prepared across the board

  • Everything here was adequately prepared

  • The pastry was cooked through while being extremely flaky and buttery

  • As these are two things which are quite similar texturally

  • These were served simply with a balsamic vinegar and port sauce

  • That would be pretty in line with a typical veal kidney experience

  • It will come as no surprise to regular readers of London Unattached that I was keen to visit Les 110 de Taillevent in Cavendish Square

  • A contemporary take on the bistro with green leather banquettes and seating with the wines neatly stored behind a bar

  • A place (with the exception of a members bar) which is normally only associated by corporate business&rsquo

  • Provided him with some of the best food he has ever eaten with wine to match
