Lovely tranquil decor with comfortable lighting and good acoustics
-
The toilets were quite beautiful
-
The pleasant house wine was only £
-
My starter was a rocket salad with grilled vegetable and mozarella
-
It was dressed with good homemade pesto and served with oil and balsamic vinegar on the side
-
My companion's garlic mushrooms were a little bland
-
Oven baked button mushrooms flavored with garlic and butter
-
I had the mixed grilled fish which was extravagant at £
-
There were three large scallops with corals attached
-
My companion had the more homely dish of meatballs in tomato sauce with mashed potato
-
Nice fresh tomato sauce spiked with peas and tasting mostly of passata
-
Brick Lane is the heart of the East End
-
I would also like to state that we were given £
-
So we started with the lobster soup
-
The mozzarella was really nice and speck was delicious
-
The lobster soup did not taste like lobster at all and the drizzle of oil on top of the soup was unnecessary (flavour wise)
-
It is a shame because i feel this was most likely because of my order choice
-
It was just laden with cheese so I couldnt get my taste buds round the nice wood fired base
-
Food wise it was not worth the money the food is very average (although the pizza bread is really nice)
-
The waiter was friendly although spoke very little English
-
Unfortunately he was also very inexperienced and made lots of mistakes (we had to go and ask for a serviette)
-
It's nicely decorated but ultimately was trying to be Italian rather than actually being Italian
-
To keep it safe we went for the bruschetta and pizzas (American and La Cucina) and were pleasantly surprised
-
The stand out was the amount of parma ham on the La Cucina
-
Normally places seem to be very stingy with this however it was piled on here
-
The only minor gripe was that the bruschetta came quite cold so we had to warm it up in the oven
-
This may have been how it was supposed to be
-
The restaurant is located 10 minutes away from Liverpool St
-
The walk it is worth the experience
-
The tomatoes were very fresh and the mozzarella tasted super good
-
The ingredients are extremely fresh and the menu has a great range of Italian dishes
-
The portions sizes are generous and extremely good value for the price
-
The service was fast as well as friendly
-
The day I visited I think they had just repainted as there was a very strong smell of paint throughout the restaurant
-
The starters were quite pricey but when they arrived you could see that you get your money's worth the portions were huge
-
Tomato bread was basically a pizza
-
The pizza was ok the dough was well cooked but the topping ingredients didn't seem great quality
-
Ten spaghetti carbonara on the other hard was great not too heavy or creamy
-
This is one of the best Italian restaurant
-
I had spaghetti carbonara with red wine for my main meal and a diavola pizza was my take away
-
Calm environment with beautiful decor
-
Would definitely come again with bunch of friends
-
Brick Lane is traditionally known for its Indian Restaurants &
-
So naturally the restaurant was quiet with a few other diners
-
The interior of the restaurant is quite narrow
-
Quite a few of their dishes are Halal compliant
-
Was not we expected to look like (it was actually a cake) but nevertheless tasted nice
-
Main course pollo funghi chicken with creamy mushroom sauce absoloutly amazing
-
I'm all about the clean/high end presentation and class when it comes to restaurants because I can't simple trust the food is clean and free of any poisoning
-
To be fair the food came quick and it was well prepared but what sorta bothered me was their prices
-
I mean compared to 'burger and lobster' IN Mayfair you get a burger or a lobster bun with fries for £
