High Road Brasserie (Chiswick)

• I went several times for their sumptuous breakfast which is very good and complete
• The house is very tolerant with its customers
• You must wait if you want to have a table or even when the dishes arrive because there are really a lot of people
• One of the best I would say
• He confidently said they were served right
• High Road Brasserie is the downstairs restaurant of High Road House
• Unlike its upstairs compatriot it is open to non members of Soho House
• Cor is simple and there are lots of outside tables on the pavement of the busy High Road
• With some descriptions that were ambiguous in places (naming the region rather than the grower)
• Example labels were Barbera Amonte 2012 from Piedmonte at £
• The avocado was ripe (12/20)
• A crust laced with capers and rosemary and a chicken jus served in a separate dish
• 16) with caponata (aubergine stew) was correctly cooked
• Though they were not the highest quality fruit that I have encountered (12/20)
• By far the best dish of the meal was passion fruit crè
• Objectively it is far from a bargain for the level of food that actually arrives
• Because we didn't book (it was last minute decision)
• So it's very easy to reach it and the decor itself is quite nice
• It was a pretty quick service (which I thank since I was not keen on staying long in the cold) and it was tasty
• The capuccino was quite tasty
• Lunch and supper with daily specials
• A leafy affluent London suburb on a balmy Friday evening is always going to give a dining experience a head start
• Our hipster looking waiter told us it was his second day on the job
• The escargot and buratta dishes were verging on excellent
• Completely outshone by the oysters which were the best I've had
• By that stage I'd had too much wine and my mood was too rosy to care
