  • A little out of the way for most people but it's nice there are areas like this in London

  • Gogi is very smartly fitted out with jet black tables and chairs with black hooded steel extractor fans over each table for the barbecues

  • The menu is quite extensive with a selection of starters

  • There is plenty of authentic dishes and doesn't try to compromise itself with more westernised dishes I think don't think I've been to a Korean restaurant without getting some Kimchi on the side

  • The radish was the better of the 3

  • A korean pancake with spring onions and seafood

  • The one at Assa is quite good aswell

  • Cooking time was quite short

  • This was accompanied by the Pamoochim (spring onions) and Ssangchu (lettuce) to make wraps with the meat but found the meat on it's own dipped in the accompanying sweet sauce sufficed

  • So by the time it came to the bibimbap it was cooked through with the rice becoming quite stodgy from absorbing all the excess oil

  • The desserts menu struggled with authentic choices

  • Going for the korean rice cake was a good choice

  • Think a chocolate ganache with flubber inside

  • Very smart with good service

  • Again Koba is noticeably cheaper across the board

  • At this pricing range it's close to what you can get from some of the best restaurants in London

  • Food was fantastic and the ambience and location were great as well

  • The prawn starter as well as the short rib beef was just brilliant

  • Haven't really tried other high end Korean food places but frankly this one was really good

  • Price wise it was slightly on the expensive side 2 people meal cost 60 quid with only one alcoholic drink

  • The restaurant is essentially modern Korean BBQ aiming to give an informal and relaxed dining experience with a hands on cooking approach

  • Though all the cooking is done for you at the table

  • We started with a small plate of kimchi

  • If you're unsure is pickled cabbage with chilli

  • The intensities and flavours of each were all subtly different

  • Pan fried chicken dumplings with a lovely soy and spring onion sauce

  • Not too thick or chewy and there was a lot of filling

  • The soy dip was very good indeed and soon livened these up

  • The piece of calamaris and prawn were delicately cooked

  • All the food came served in good portions and were quite filling

  • The Bulgabi beef was amazingly delicious

  • Even the vegetarian dishes were cooked to perfection and had good flavors

  • GOGI Korean Bar & Grill (Maida Vale) was well worth every penny

  • I generally visit places with someone familiar with the cuisine

  • If you like it hot the chilli squid is a must and the chicken dumplings were as good as I've ever tasted

  • Shared a meat platter with my girlfriend as a main which

  • With a couple of side dishes was more than enough

  • 80 for the both of us with a few drinks between us

  • I love Korean food and was interested to try it after a friend recommended the place

  • We went for lunch on a weekday so it was quite quiet

  • We started off with the tasty seafood Korean pancake which I order in most Korean restaurants

  • Vegetables and seasoned with soy sauce and sesame oil

  • There were also some little salads as some of our dishes were available in the set lunch menu which was slightly cheaper

  • The beef bibimbap was delicious another one of those dishes that I love

  • The spicy bbq chicken was prepared in the kitchen (for the lunch set menu) but I think you can request to have the meats cooked at your own table if you wish to do so

  • The chicken was really tender and the sauce was delicious

  • The kimchi fried rice was topped with an egg and was also very appetising

  • We went on a Monday night and they were about 70% full which was a good sign

  • We were a party of 12 there for a birthday four of our guests were vegetarians so we parked them together so they could have their own grill and avoid having to pass food around the table

  • The food at Gobi is up there with the best of them and I honestly think it's probably the best I've had in recent years

  • The service was very personable

  • Chilli squid and the galbi were highlights

  • Really impressed with GOGI Korean Bar & Grill (Maida Vale) and hope these guys are able to roll out more outlets at some point

  • It's always a hit with anyone I take there

  • The food here is good to average but nowhere near excellent

  • The quantity is not so good
