The tea rooms are a mixture of the classic floral decorations with odd quirks thrown in for good measure bejewelled dogs and papier mache busts not something I see on a regular basis
-
Hot Chocolates were also on offer for those who didn't really fancy the tea route
-
The sandwiches were generous portions far larger than any finger sandwich with delicious meaty fillings that kept coming for as long as we kept eating them
-
My favourite was the Ham with Red Onion marmalade
-
The scones were still warm Orange Blossom with pieces of candied orange peel had a delicious almost marmalade y flavour and the plain served well with lashings of cream &
-
Chatting with a friend over a delicate feast is all I ever crave when the skies open up
-
The Athenaeum is a gorgeous
-
The living wall is unlike anything i&rsquo
-
Ve ever seen and is very hard to miss
-
The tea room was relatively empty as it was reserved later for an evening event
-
T be worth going to Afternoon Tea if every stand was filled with the same sandwiches followed by the same desserts and scones
-
After our Scones and Crumpets were sampled with each one of the spreads
-
A glorious tray was wheeled towards us
-
I chose several of the cakes to sample and a delicious champagne jelly with fresh strawberries
-
The service is like hit and miss perhaps more could be done with the standard of service and staffing
-
Cakes decorated with a strawberry macaroon and one with strawberry victoria sponge were delicious
-
The coffee here too is very good but the sandwiches were not very great
-
The ambiance is fantastic and fun to be there
-
The food tastes very good and is also presented very well
-
The location of the place offers a spectacular view which is pleasing to the eyes
-
The atmosphere is very lively and buzzing but the staff was not quick on their feet
-
The service was too slow to make the service prompt
-
Though everything was sort of expensive
-
Galvin- The Athenaeum (Mayfair) in my opinion is excellent to celebrate special occasions
-
We had booked the place in advance and on reaching the venue were served impeccably
-
The drinks before dinner were a great start and the service throughout the dinner maintained top quality
-
The charges though in my opinion were a little on the expensive side but the wonderful ambiance and the awesome view made it worth it
-
If you are looking for a place to celebrate with family then this is just the right place to go to
-
The food will strike a chord with your taste buds and will make you crave for more
-
On the whole it was an enjoyable experience
-
I had visited the restaurant with decent hopes but they were all crashed and stomped on at my recent visit
-
We were presented with the bill even without asking
-
The food was excellent and was cooked to perfection with wonderful flavours to it
-
The service is pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm and friendly
-
The ambience is wonderful with amazing views
-
The prices are steep and the whole meal becomes too expensive hence
-
The menu offered a great variety and the food was served promptly
-
Bit the food is a little expensive really
-
The ambience here is great with beautiful decor
-
The service was pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm
-
Even though Galvin- The Athenaeum (Mayfair) is a bit expensive
-
If you want to celebrate one of those special moments in your life then this is one place that you should definitely visit
-
I managed to grab a place at the bar and the cocktails were pretty good
-
The bar staff was confident and hospitable
-
The prices are a bit high
-
The ambiance is a gloomy one and the servers are not even cooperative
-
There is no comfortable seating arrangement and one the top of that the drinks are below average
-
The only reason that one can visit Galvin- The Athenaeum (Mayfair) is that it is pocket friendly but that certainly doesn't compensate for the bad experience that they offer
-
The place is a little too small but the food is good and the drinks too are quite nice
-
The staff here is not very attentive
-
I visited Galvin- The Athenaeum (Mayfair) on a weekend and on weekends there are few choices in the menu
-
The food is excellent and is cooked to perfection
-
The ambience is great with a warm and cosy feel to it
-
The ambiance is very relaxing and comfortable and is perfect for a meal
-
The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and is quick and efficient as well
-
The cocktails here are tolerable at best
-
The prices are quite more than what you would want to pay for them
-
The ambiance was quite nice and comfortable
-
The staff here was quite rude and unpleasant which is the sole reason why I would not recommend Galvin- The Athenaeum (Mayfair) to anyone
-
The service is painfully slow
-
The set menu was goo value for money
-
The dishes are very traditional
-
The drinks are a little on the expensive side
-
The overall experience was really enjoyable
-
It was not really one of the best experiences of my life
-
The ambiance was cheerful and lively
-
The bar menu is quite limited and a little expensive
-
Over all the experience was good but not great
-
Galvin- The Athenaeum (Mayfair) is not at all worth it
-
The decor was great and the atmosphere was lively as well but the service was very poor and completely screwed the whole experience of being here
-
When the food was served it was served cold
-
The food is pretty delicious but the quantity is pretty bad and thus at the end of the meal we were left hungry which was quite disappointing
-
The service was pretty good
-
As expected from an upscale place like this one and the ambience was also quite decent
-
The staff here was really rude and arrogant
-
Ordered a set menu which included generous portions of wine for two along with main course
-
We ordered a meal which was qualitative with less portion size though
-
This restaurant has a wonderfully romantic and intimate feel and I was seated in an enormous armchair which felt like I was sitting on a big throne
-
The service was pretty quick and efficient
-
The staff made sure we were comfortable
-
The ambience was great with wonderful seating area
-
The couches are not comfortable
-
The service is really slow
-
The breakfast is not special and rich
-
If you come away with anything other than a fierce desire to go back and do it all again as soon as possible then you've got a heart of stone
-
Most recently to sample an afternoon tea and on a separate occasion to learn how the living wall was created and is maintained as part of the Chelsea Flower Show fringe
-
We had dined here 2 years ago on a trip to London and found it was OK not outstanding
-
As we were staying in the hotel we tried it once and were indifferent about the food and service
-
We gave it another try but were even more disappointed with the service
-
Our mains choices were crab lasagne cold pasta in some sort of gel left most of it on the plate and a pork chop that was served cool to cold and was very dry
-
All is not lost the newly established bar is a great spot reasonable prices and staff with a great attitude club sandwich is a hit and atmosphere is good
-
Had the food there a couple of times and the quality of the same dishes was not consistent which says a lot in itself
-
Can be avoided as there are much better places in the vicinity
-
All waiters was kind and helpful
-
I ate the most delicious scones ever and I am not sure but will probably they are using Ronnefeldt teas
-
After all I was really satisfied and my friends as well
-
The Athenaeum is a five star London hotel in the heart of Mayfair and Piccadilly

Galvin at The Athenaeum is the hotel&rsquo

Beef burger) as there was a twist on the usual in that you get one mini burger and a hot dog (I managed to swap the Yellowfin tuna burger for an extra hotdog)
-
The burger had a nice relish and thick patty with a nice crisp bun although the patty itself was a bit fatty for my liking
-
The hot dog was really special with a crisp skin and a nice kick to the mustard
-
The portion size was just right for lunch without leaving you too full and lethargic
-
I loved the fact the sliders came with hot dog option as sometimes you just feel like street food but without having to wait in the street
-
18.00 and I washed this down with a Tropicano Mocktail at £
-
Fruity and refreshing with a thick foam and served in a short glass
-
Do bear in mind there are a number of other dishes on the main menus as well as items on the bar menu which is what I selected
-
28.00 for a light lunch you may think this is a little on the high side but I was happy with the food
-
My other little criticism is that the burger patty was a bit fatty for my liking
