Gallery Mess (Chelsea)

• The ambiance is very lively and attractive with brick walls and vaulted ceiling
• We have dined here once and it was all in all a decent fare
• We both had smoked fish which was yum and very well cooked
• It may be just me but most of the regulars that you will find here are posh young mummies
• This hidden gem serves British cuisine with some French specialities
• The back room is great for private parties
• The listed interior provides an authentic look to the restaurant with exposed brickwork and vaulted ceilings
• The ambience at night with soft lighting and floral displays is perfect for a romantic dinner
• The cured salmon with shaved radish was amazing and if you are a &lsquo
• The Mess provides a great dish which was fresh and flavoursome
• Staff were friendly and attentive and there is an amazingly large alfresco dining area
• One of the best value afternoon tea in London
• Food is fab as are the drinks and coffee
• Dinner with white table cloths and well dressed waiters with pieces of modern art splashed all over the walls
• Gallery Mess is next door to Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea&rsquo
• The dishes here are dotted with edible flowers and delicate flavours

• The evening began with champagne on the terrace of Gallery Mess and I chatted away to Mina as Fiona
• The Gallery Mess is located in the Saatchi Gallery but it&rsquo
• The stylish dining room is mostly monochrome but exposed brick work
• The food here is by Rhubarb
• It was cured with gin and tonic
• I was still able to finish my perfectly cooked sea bass served with a simple crisp green salad
• D requested it be rare and the preparation was just perfect for her
• S pretty plate of pan fried sea trout with crushed new potatoes
• Other tasty looking choices were chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream
• Last week a fabulous group of my favourite bloggers and I headed down to The Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea for dinner with Duke of York Square
• I considered it for my birthday last year before deciding to go all out and just join forces with Diego instead
• The restaurant is light and bright
• My new camera is on its way
• I may have a snazzy looking and extra large DSLR camera with a gigantic lens
• Angie Silverspoon however is turning into a bit of a pro and took some great snaps during our dinner
• Getting to know Gallery Mess a little better and finding out just what the Duke of York Square in Chelsea has to offer along with fellow foodies Mina
• The ill fated Oriel Restaurant has been replaced by a very similar offering from The Colbert and just across the road is The Botanist
• Peter Jones is a stabilising influence on the whole area
• Wonderful place to have a nice catch up with friends and some delicious afternoon tea
• Enjoyed a really good Sunday lunch here with friends and the mini me
• Reservations were straight fwd through the website inc asking for a high chair
• Service was attentive and plenty to take in with the surroundings
• The service was friendly but a bit slow
• I'm assuming this was due to the large amount of full tables on a busy Saturday lunch time
• The food however was well prepared and very tasty
• I had the fish and chips with mushy peas
• Cozy small place with an outdoor area great for afternoon tea
• Yummy bites with every afternoon tea formula and very affordable too
• The salads have less and less ingredients and even the burger which used to thick and juicy is now thinner and dryer
• The only plus to Gallery Mess (Chelsea) is the outdoor area on a sunny day
