The Fence (Farringdon)

• Handmade beef patty with bacon and cheese on other
• Looked good and was slightly toasted so gave the impression of a job well done
• First mouthful confirmed it had been toasted because it was slightly stale
• Chunky chips with skins still on were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside nice and hot
• Flavoursome with the skins on
• Its terrace is a great place to go in the summer
• Cooking to order is such a key part of why I go out for food
• If it's done badly that is a real let down
• Worth popping in but don't spend your whole night here as there are better places nearby
• Time to get a move on with that Christmas shopping
• The recipe is coming here next week and it's a gooden I promise
• My new work home of Farringdon is fast becoming my go to destination for after work drinks and dinner
• 155 Clerkenwell was a recently discovered gem and now The Fence shows its true med colours through it's food
• A DJ sets up in the corner and there is dancing in amongst the drinkers
• With a calm and relaxed lunch service with tapas style sharing dishes
• Its cool for sharers but if you are like me who takes the lead from Joe on Friends
• So the gorgeous medium rare steak slices were the winner for me
• Continuing the carnivore route there was also veal meat balls
• There was the delicately prepared squid with chick peas and broccoli
