Wednesday 12th March The Trinity Pub in Borough is a regular haunt
-
As I often rehearse at nearby Henry Wood Hall with KSO (we're only one letter away from being the LSO)
-
So I was delighted to hear that the publicans were opening a restaurant upstairs called Edwins
-
I popped along with three friends during their soft opening
-
The drinks they have an excellent gin selection with the likes of St
-
Pomegranate (pictured below) was light and bursting with flavour
-
Scallops in Filo with Harissa Mayo were everything that we had hoped
-
Crispy Pork Belly with Cauliflower and Rabbit
-
My Wild Venison with baby root veg and shallott puré
-
Natalie's Grilled Seafood Bouillabaisse was very popular
-
Vegetarians will be happy with the likes of Honey roasted pear
-
Almond Tart with Chantilly Cream and Chocolate Fondant with Honeycomb Icecream
-
I think there is room for something even better here or maybe just one more choice
-
The fondant appeared with pistachio ice cream
-
Though not ideal for someone that was craving honeycomb or with a nut allergy
-
Criticisms were small though
-
The atmosphere is delightful and the staff were very friendly
-
I can imagine it being equally pleasant in the day time with light crashing through the windows perhaps I will return to try out their Saturday/Sunday brunch menu which is very enticing
-
If Sundays in England were made for one thing
-
A round (or five) of slowly paced out drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) and most importantly chilled out conversations with friends and family
-
The atmosphere was so relaxed
-
Un rushed and friendly that it's hard to imagine you are in a location as busy and touristy as London Bridge/Borough
-
There was no way in the world I was ever going to finish a Sunday roast if I filled up space needlessly first but hubby went for a delicious lightly battered scallop dish with spicy sauce on the side
-
I was served a beautifully cooked and crumbly to perfection filo pastry filled with layer upon layer of goat cheese
-
Spinach and vegetable and served with honey roasted carrots
-
All requests that the boys in the group had for sauces and relishes were met with easy approval
-
Because they are cooked in bulk for large groups of hungry punters
-
Something always disappoints either the potatoes are undercooked
-
I've never found one that is quite up to par
-
Was done perfectly and I am usually known for the one with the litle appetite amongst friends and families (well
-
) but even I managed to finish almots my entire plate because the food was too good to waste
-
What was nicest was that we sat there
-
The restaurant is located just about Borough station
-
Ll find a bright and charming room filled with eclectic but modern furnishings
