The Dispensary (Whitechapel)

• The Dispensary is located in a delightful grade 2 listed building
• Oozes charm and gentle sophistication and this continues inside with dark wooden furniture
• Bacon homemade ground steak burger with truffle and Parmesan triple cooked hand cut chips
• It's served medium rare as requested and arrives speared with a steak knife on a chopping board with the chips in a cup
• Yeah it looks impressive but it's not easy to eat with a burger this juicy
• The burger peppery with that rich steak taste
• It's clear that the quality ingredients are fresh and the combination is epic
• The chips are simply incredible with the perfect balance of truffle and Parmesan that is moorish in the extreme
• These are the best chips in town
• We all wanted dessert and placed our order yet were told 10 minutes later that they would be served in another 20 minutes
• The service is haphazard to put it kindly
• Our table was cleared before everyone had finished eating and worst of all my cup of chips were taken away before I'd actually finished
• The place was hardly full yet there were long periods where there were no staff to be seen
• Great food but some refinement is required to earn that extra star
• S meatballs were also straight out of a packet
