Cornish Tiger (Battersea)

• I think it was an unpromising looking Italian called something like Ciao Bella
• Whose lofty ambitions appeared to be to do what Strada were doing three doors down
• I strongly suspect the reality is rather more mundane would you choose spend your money on crappy pasta or frozen fajitas over all the other amazing restaurants in London at the moment

• After passing many a packed joint Cornish Tiger was completely empty
• 9.95 for 2 courses was great value
• I started off with a delicious parsnip &
• Celeriac soup with a Parmesan crisp &
• To follow I had a smoked cornish fish quiche with lemon butter
• The pastry was crisp &
• Buttery however the fish was not as smoky as I would have liked
• Perfectly cooked ox cheek with red cabbage
• Overall I thought was a lovely local restaurant
