Coq d'Argent (City of London)

• The interior is beautifully laid out as well
• Since the place is on an open terrace you get extensive views of London
• Drinks list extensive although the price of the drinks is roughly double than the price of a normal pint in an average pub
• Standing on the terrace in good weather with a drink in hand a lovely meal to look forward to can make it all worth while
• Coq d'argent is a rather fabulous venue on the roof of Number 1 The Poultry
• My first visit to this City restaurant with a roof top garden was on a Sunday in January
• When the garden is not in use
• You can appreciate just how well designed Coq d'Argent (City of London) is and take in the views without being disturbed by the usual city boy revellers
• They do not always seem to appreciate that these deals are an ideal way to showcase the restaurant
• The service was friendly and efficient
• This Summer I was lucky enough to be treated to a three course meal at the Coq d'Argent
• There were some incredible sounding dishes on the menu and it took some thought to come up with my final decision
• The starter I decided to have the lightly salted beef carpaccio with seasonal vegetables
• Washed down with a large glass of wine
• The duck confit with pomme fondante
• The duck was moist and tender and fell off the bone with ease and the pomme fondante
• We decided that a pudding was in order so we signalled for the dessert menu
• Such as baked plums on pistachio shortbread with honey and pink peppercorn yoghurt or a crè
• A tiramisu flavoured mess with chocolate sponge
• This was a favourite with my dinner guests and for a good reason too
• It's really quite hard to describe the flavour but it was basically a small parcel of indulgence with a lovely smooth and creamy texture
• All in all the Coq d'Argent was a very special dining experience
• This would be the perfect place to take a date and with its rooftop location an even better place to enjoy after work drinks
• As you can unwind with a glass of fine wine overlooking the fabulous views of our capital
• I was there to have a taste of a limited run seasonal dish of creamy mushroom tagliatelle with a selection of white and black truffles
• M not even sure the dish was officially available yet)
• Or at least I believe that was this enthusiastic and friendly expert&rsquo
• S name) were superbly paired with my and my dining partners dishes
• 9.00 for 100ml) was an outstanding accompaniment to dessert
• M usually not so impressed with afters on offer at most restaurants
• E I had here was amazing and actually changed my perception of what this dish should taste like
• The dining room was lovely and comfortable with nice cityscape views from its fourth storey perch
• It all starts with the rather cool lift
• The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled
• The rooftop is exceptional
• The service was quick and the bar staff were polite
• Surely that is why you would go
• I came here with a friend and they have open place where you can enjoy a drink and take in the view
• The service was impeccable
• It was almost as if I was tasting it for the first time
• It is full of seafood and it is absolutely enough for 3/4 people
• Cock crab all were absolutely perfect
• I went with a couple of friends and we very rarely all agree about food but Coq d'Argent (City of London) was just perfect that we agreed

• Dinner started off with a Carpaccio
• The interesting addition on to this particular dish was mushrooms that were pickled a little bit
• The plating was really elegant and the pickling of those mushrooms was a great way to introduce some acid into the dish
• The duck was tender and was accompanied by a rich orange sauce
• I did order the Potatoes Dauphinoise as a side to go along with my main course
• The potatoes were just slightly cold
• The highlight of the meal was the dessert though which was one of the best that I've ever had
• I started and ended my meal with a carpaccio and my dessert would be this awesome pineapple carpaccio
• You had the fresh pinapple along with this wonderful vodka lime foam that provided a little bit of tartness in order to balance out the sweetness of the coconut ice cream
• This dish made the experience here more than worth while and I'm glad I was convinced to spend the extra £
• The service is quite good
• The food here was excellent but seemed to be over priced and the quantity was also a bit too less
• That did not pinch us because the overall experience was just great as the ambience was fabulous with beautiful decor and if one is seated on the terrace
• The restaurant is not favorable for vegetarians for the menu is very limited
• The dishes are overpriced and the taste is just edible
• The steak was under cooked and the foie gras was not up to the mark

• Coq d'Argent (City of London) masquerades as a fine dining venue with its decor and expensive wines but is in reality a corporate establishment rather than a restaurant run with love and passion
• A French restaurant with a medley of European staff ( not one English accent anywhere the night we visited)
• All these different elements are literally raising London's food game

• The fries with truffle/dijon mayonnaise were amazing and the small croissant was warm and buttery

• They have both internal and outdoor seating in their rooftop garden which is beautiful during summer (almost never)
