Cittie of Yorke (Holborn)

• Whilst I've been to this Sam Smith's pub numerous times for a drink this was the first time I'd eaten
• Located on High Holborn near Chancery Lane this pub is a visual gem
• The setting is perfect for a nice pint in the evening and has a real old time feel
• The pub fare is pretty standard and as such I opted for the fish and chips
• It was better than I expected (I wasn't expecting much) with a decent sized portion for £
• The mushy peas were very plain and the chips were nothing special

• I would never go back to this restaurant even after having interacted with the managers
• Such callous behaviour on part of the staff is not acceptable to me
• The manager is arrogant and rude
• Much to my surprise he was more interested in talking on his phone than taking my order
• Even zero rating would be an over statement for such a club which is too high headed to serve its clients pushing aside their ego
• This treasure is a beautiful pub with the bar staff mostly busy but not ignorant

• The food that we ordered here was appealing and appetizing
• There are basically three types of pubs in this building and all three of them are absolutely brilliant

• I know it sounds logical to serve it cold to the customers who like it that way only but in my opinion the case is not the same with everyone

• They have only one kind of beers but these are are quite good and you may try quite a good variety of it

• The rest of the place is equally lovely with high and vaulted ceilings

• During my last visit the beer was just about average
• This is the place whose main attraction is it's ambience
• The decor is more vintage and it is just beautiful with the lovely historic feel to it

• The service is pretty efficient and the staff is quite warm and friendly and would recommend others to try Cittie of Yorke (Holborn) once at least if not for the food but for the ambience

• Average food and arrogant/ unhelpful staff (except the Italian gentleman at the bar who was nice and helpful)
• We were visiting London and this was our final night that we wanted to end at a traditional British pub
