China City (Bloomsbury)

• The inside is really beautiful with classy decoration and has a really authentic feel to it
• Went yesterday evening with friends 7 of us
• First thing we noticed was no tablecloth
• On the whole the food was OK but a couple of things
• The scallops were not firm and fresh and obviously cooked from frozen due to the texture
• The monkfish fillets looked suspiciously to be some other fish disguised as monkfish as they were too flat and the texture was not firm
• The stingy portion of crispy roast pork was not even crispy
• One of the serving dishes was badly chipped and should have been thrown away ages ago
• The restaurant was not even busy
• When the bill came it consisted of a small piece of paper with a handwritten list of the items ordered
• A larger piece of paper with just one figure the total
• They did give us a takeaway menu with the bill so were we supposed to cross refer and work it out for ourselves
• Eventually they came back with the prices next to the items on the tiny piece of paper and they had the cheek to include 10% service
• They really look as if they are ready to close down
• I was seated quickly and my order was taken promptly
• China City is a great choice
• Went here as it is vlose to our hotel and we were tired
• Rediculously small portion of food with huge price tag
• Made my first meal in london end with disappointment
• It seemed like a good choice since we were starving and tired
• The double cook pork was disappointing
• Well I don't recommend this restaurant since the price is high and the food is just so so
• The good thing about China City (Bloomsbury) is the nice service and the space is huge for big groups
• The food was really nice well cooked the Venue was clean and five star including the staff the atmosphere was the best I have ever experienced in a restaurant with the Chinese New Year Lion dance
• I could see the amount of effort and Talent that was put into producing that ceremony which was very memorable as my first live Chinese new year ceremony viewed
• The hotpots are really nice
