Caravaggio (Camberwell)

• Caravaggio is everything you'd expect from a traditional Italian restaurant
• It is easy to forget your surroundings and feel like you are in Little Italy
• Taking a chance on the restaurant on Camberwells strip was a pleasant surpise
• The service was fast and efficient
• Yet not over attentive and the food was absolutely fantastic
• I was expecting an average meal as it was exceedingly affordable but with a full tummy
• The only issue was that I ordered a rib eye steak that had to be returned as I asked for medium rare
• I didn't really mind as the service was speedy anyway
• It felt as if I was on holiday with the family restaurant atmosphere
• Caravaggio is best visited at the gallery and not at Church Street
• It has a real independent feel to it and is hard to ever catch it empty
• The atmosphere is cool and laid back a bit like my sunday mornings and the pizza taste real italian
• There is quite a lot of room inside so feel free to go with a couple friends
• I had a Penne with mozzarella
• Napolitan Sausage and herbs which in fairness was a nice pasta but see that's all it was
• I could've cooked that at home but in saying that I'm not saying it was a great homemade dish
• Cosy place with individuality
• Worth a meal with reasonably good good but does not possess that "
• The food here is lovingly cooked with fresh (sometimes seasonal for the specials) ingredients
• Saucy perfection was surprisingly the highlight of the evening
• We feasted until we were absolutely stuffed
• The staff at this restaurant were so so lovely they catered to our every need with a smile and light banter with the kids which was really nice
• The atmosphere was electric with small families to couples and groups of university aged peers
• The menu is vast and there is something for everybody
• As this is very local to where we live it is now going to be our local family restaurant
