Bucci (Balham)

• The calamari was lightly battered and very tender
• Serving size is brill and the pricing great
• Me and my work friends work and live in Balham and Bucci is always our first choice hands down
• This is a fantastic family run Italian with a real authentic atmosphere
• All the dishes are served with the freshest ingredients
• The place was crowded and hence we presumed that the place is quite popular
• After entering the place we found out that the waitress is very attentive and seated us at a nice table
• We had ordered for the starters and initially everything was delivered to our tables on time but then eventually the service started to fail
• By the end of it when we were about to finish our meal
• Half of the items we had ordered were delivered then
• A nice Italian restaurant that unfortunately was out of pizza when i had visited with some friends
• The drinks were also delicious
• The service is swift with a well trained and friendly staff
• The dishes that we ordered for the main course were delectable and absolutely delicious
• The only let down was the dessert

• The staff guided us through our options and we ordered the minestrone with a combination of timba and prawn
• A must visit for those who are looking for a generous meal at a modest price
• It was very typically Italian with movie star posters adorning the wall
• Prawn and avocado starters were delicious and my steak with mushroom sauce was delectable
• I am a regular here and can state this with full conviction that this restaurant is a complete gem
• The atmosphere is fun and buzzing always

• After having read the reviews I was actually looking forward to trying out Bucci (Balham) and enjoying the evening with my friends

• We'd booked a table at Bucci (Balham) and were pleased to see the place full and busy when we arrived
• The waitress was clueless and asked us to speak to the waiter
• We were met with an aggressive and dismissive response but no food or drinks
• A basic cheese and tomato pizza was served with meat all over it
• The waiter and owner were very efficient and attentive
• Everything was top notch and delicious
• Everything was full of flavors
• We went to Bucci (Balham) for pre wedding festivity and were blow away by the quality and taste of the food served
• We ordered multiple appetizers which were all amazing
• The fried risotto balls were just short of decadent and the little pizza squares were perfect with never ending wine
• Was fried goat cheese with fries and red onion compote which were all delectable
• The Frutti de Mare was amazing and had an enormous portion
• My partner had the salmone alla griglia which was perfect tender
• Avocado con gamberetti which were delectable
• Panna Cotta with fresh berries for dessert was delcious
• The desserts were brilliant too
• The place offers authentic Italian cuisine and has one the best Italian in town
• The portions are also enormous and the price is worth the quantity and quality of food
• The service here is great and quite prompt
• The atmosphere is also very lively and enjoyable
• The chicken was bland and pasta was horrible to say the least
• The dessert that we had later on was also tasteless and I would recommend you to avoid Bucci (Balham) at all costs because of the poor quality of food served there
• The food is very authentic (I got back from touring Italy a couple of days before and the menu was spot on) with a great selection
• I sampled the tricolore salad to start and also nibbled on the garlic mushrooms (needs bread with it) and the antipasti platter and they were all fab
• A couple of dishes arrived after everyone else was pretty much finished
• The best bit was the crazy birthday show
• When we asked where our food was no one seemed to have an answer and some servers would need to ask the manager to come and talk to us instead of answering themselves
• The food portions were also far too large and not very well presented
• The pasta dishes especially were not well presented and were daunting to look at
• In short the restaurant was un organised and not well managed which was a shame as the food was reasonably priced for what it was and seemed quite authentic
• Then when we were seated we we had to wait 40 minutes to order and ask 4 times if we could order
• This pattern followed with dessert and asking for the bill
• Luckily we were in no rush and I had been before so expected poor service
• It's a shame reading other reviews that are 2 years old that this has always been the case
