The Brasserie - 1 Lombard Street (City of London)

• One Lombard Street is a bit of a City institution
• Asparagus and parma ham was a combination of steamed asparagus drenched in a lemon butter sauce
• Raw slithers of asparagus wrapped in parma ham with parmesan inside
• A main course we had herb crusted stone fish with mediterranean vegetables such as courgette and tomato
• This wasn't a tomato heavy ratatouille it was lovely and light medley of vegetables
• Gregg Wallace would have been proud of the gooey centre) with peanut ice cream
• This restaurant is exceptional
• The client was impressed and it
• This was exceptional value and the food was of a very high quality
• The appetizer was a small cup of carrot and coriander soup
• The starter was a croquette
• Main I had gnocchi with mozzarella and tomato and for dessert it
• The service was excellent they always asked how our
• We didn't expect too much from the food but I was pleasantly surprised by the options and the execution
• The dishes and flavour combinations are tried and tested ones
• So while there are few surprises
• If you're looking for a spot in the City with decent food at great value
• I'd definitely recommend The Brasserie with the Opentable deal
• They live in the Barbican and I said I was happy to make the journey across London to The City
