Beach Blanket Babylon (Shoreditch)

• I came here with a group of friends at the end of a Saturday night out in Shoreditch and had a really good time
• We had no trouble getting in and drinks were bought quickly
• The best part of this venue is the inevitable "
• The ambiance is one you have to see to believe
• The Baroque and Rococo decor is classy but also sassy
• The only annoying part of the evening was that the club closed at 2am (early for Shoreditch)
• I met a friend there on a Wednesday night and it was a nice level of busy
• With couples and groups dotted around in various corners yet was not overwhelmingly busy
• Is a great deal considering cocktails are a tenner each alone
• ) and I did have to ask if it was on before he suddenly remembered it existed
• The interior in Shoreditch is far more spacious than it's Notting Hill counterpart
• The bar is virtually a club and the music is absolutely fantastic
• In particular are very petite
• It is a great place to grab a few drinks with friends on a weekend evening
• Plus the cocktails are just as amazing
• The only thing that bought the place down for me was Tulisa going on like she was something to be looked at whilst acting like she doesn't want to be looked at which is quite a skill lol
• The first time I went was for a birthday meal and so I got to see and taste some of what's on offer
• We had to walk through the main restaurant which was absolutely buzzing and had a great atmosphere
• The private room upstairs was pretty huge with its own dedicated bar
• Dessert was profiteroles which were dry and unexciting
• Bar service is grey and they have some pretty awesome cocktails
• Beach Blanket Babylon Shoreditch is rather unassuming with an all black exterior
• There is a small statue with a plaque on the outside but it's very easily missed
• Once we were inside this all changed and we were greeted by an opulent dé
• I also found myself comparing it to the Notting Hill branch where I was seated in what seemed to be a romantically intimate cave
• This Shoreditch branch is slightly more laid back and could equally be a contender for your Sunday lunch as well as a special occasion
• We were checked in and coats taken as we were sat in some comfy chairs for pre dinner cocktails
• We ordered the Bee Bee Bee and A Walk in Shoreditch and they were fruity and delicious and presented beautifully
• We were then served complimentary bread with butter and olive oil on the side was served as we waited for our starters
• I very rarely eat quinoa so this was a nice change and it's always better when someone else prepared a dish you are less familiar with
• The quinoa was light but surprisingly filling however the dish was delicious
• Cuttlefish and prawns crispy fried with harissa Mayo (£
• It was lightly battered and the dish was a rather large helping
• The prawns and cuttlefish tasted fresh beneath the batter and the squid was particularly chewy
• I would say this dish is better for sharing or for those with a large appetite
• In fact both our starter portions were both quite large and I wasn't able to finish it as I was afraid I wouldn't be able to eat my main
• Starting with the bread was probably not the best idea
• My main course I chose the lamb cutlets with Jersey royal potatoes
• 17) the lamb is usually served pink but I asked to have it a little more medium
• The lamb was so tender it fell off the bone and was a pleasure to eat
• The presentation was also wonderful and as the jersey potatoes were cut into small chunks I almost forgot I wasn't so fond of them
• ) but I was underwhelmed by the spices and especially the cumin it was seasoned with
• The steak looked like it had been chargrilled and was served medium and was very flavourful and chewy
• After all this food we were still able to manage dessert
• My guest ordered the blueberry meringue pie with black currant sorbet and caramel crunch (£
• The meringue was sweet and tasty and the texture was soft rather than the hard crunchy traditional kind I know
• I had the apple turnover as there were limited dairy free dessert options
• The main courses here sit at mid range prices but I do believe that these prices are reflected in the quality of the food

• Just a short walk from Shoreditch overground station BBB is in a prime spot amongst one of the trendiest areas in London and I had great tasting healthy food and wonderful customer service
• Additionally BBB is ope just drinks as well as dinner and they also boast private function rooms for hire
• The staff from the maitre d at the restaurant to the waiters serving was friendly but laid back it felt genuine not contrived
• Lemongrass and vodka and it was probably the nicest cocktail I've had in a long time
• I liked that my fries came with a little pot of mayo and ketchup each
• The lobster was meaty and fresh
• The waiters brought over a small bowl of water and lemon which is handy to clean up afterwards there's just no way of eating a lobster best and tidily
• Except my concept of what those meant were thrown out the window
• My turnover was a half a baked apple on a bed of buttery pastry topped with vanilla ice cream
• Who ate it with his chocolate bar again
• I have been wanting to try this for a while so was excited when we booked this with friends
• The truffle mash is one of the nicest mashed potatoes Ive ever had
• It was a nice buzz down there but it was just a bit cold
• Dining with unlimited bubbly is fast becoming an entirely acceptable way to spend a weekend and with so many places to choose from
• Competition to provide the hottest brunch spot is heating up
• Ll be having unlimited bubbly with our brunch
• The waiting staff was very Friendly and helpful
• The prawns were dry and unseasoned as well as the French Fries
• We were visiting as two Chefs and they were helpful in explaining that the main chefs were not in the house at the time but the food managed to disappoint us
