Bar & Lounge - The Goring (Belgravia)

• I really think this is the best afternoon tea in London so traditional and so perfectly lovely
• Afternoon tea at the Goring Hotel is served in the Terrace which overlooks the beautiful Goring Gardens
• You would not have known the place was busy as the incredible staff managed to keep the atmosphere to something very personal and relaxing
• The afternoon tea starts with an amouse bouche served in a small glass
• This particular one was made of lobster
• The flavours were stunning and quite unexpected &ndash
• Then you are presented with a cake stand containing a selection of finger sandwiches
• The plates with a silhouette of founder
• Four fillings were included &ndash
• Two plain and two fruit were served with Devonshire clotted cream and a selection of Tiptree Essex jams
• The cakes and desserts were something else
• We were presented with a chocolate cream chocolate é
• Lemon shortcake with strawberry mousse
• Both of us found us wanting more Eton mess which was full of surprises and beautiful flavours
• The Goring Hotel which has the best connections to the Royal Family of any hotel in London
• Kate Middleton spent her last night of freedom at the hotel before becoming a Duchess and it was a favourite for the Queen Mother
• I made the a booking to try out the gluten free afternoon tea a few weeks prior to them winning the best afternoon tea award which I can tell you is well deserved
• The gluten free sandwiches were lightly toasted and were open sandwiches were makes life a lot easier as gluten free bread can be extremely heavy in the old tummy
• The fillings were traditional chicken
• The Goring Hotel has to offer some of the best in London right behind Claridges (I've eaten over 30 gluten free afternoon teas so I know my stuff now
• If you love scones then you won't be disappointed with The Goring
• The royal connection is not lost on the hotel hence my gluten free pastries had a royal twist included a earl grey macaroon
• When making the reservation I would ask to sit in the lounge which is just gorgeous or if it's a lovely summers day then maybe request a table outside on the terrace overlooking the gardens
• This is definitely one of the best gluten free afternoon teas you will find in london
