Almeida (Islington)

• The restaurant is a very popular pre theatre venue
• On the food front the highlight was the charcuterie trolley service
• This is something the Almeida is famous for reviving
• Terrines and pates served with homemade pickles and I must say that it provides for a fairly substantial starter
• My main course I had the rib eye steak with lovely fluffy pommes pont neuf certainly the best Jenga chips I have had for a while
• The rest of the menu was fairly classic for this type of venue
• This dish takes 20 minutes to prepare as it is created from scratch it's worth the wait
• We had dinner here with a group of seven last week
• Don't get me wrong the food is amazing but for the price it should be
• Once we had a drink with our entree that was it we struggled to get any other drinks for the remaining two courses
• Almeida (Islington) was quite expensive for the location
• Food quality was overall nice though
• It surprised me by arriving with a spoon and sort of taking the form of a soup (cheeky menu trickery)
• Asparagus is right in season so was top notch as well
• My seabass was cooked to perfection with al dents vegetables on the side
