  • The Hillhead Bookclub is a charming place that oozes personality (even the menu is witty)

  • The dining space is a converted theatre and as such has magnificent decor

  • The small booths in which we were seated made the dining experience very personal

  • I ordered the bookclub and burger and was not dissapointed

  • Hillhead Bookclub (West End) is great for a casual meal or drinks they even have table tennis tables

  • Great drinks but would not count on the service especially on Sunday afternoons they are understaffed

  • Hillhead Bookclub is a lovely venue for dining in Glasgow's West End

  • Their style is perhaps the most striking aspect of the location

  • What some might refer to as hipster is much appreciated in this context

  • Variety is their spice of life in design with a plethora of different chairs

  • Special mention also are their menus which contain perhaps little exacting detail as to the dish arriving though often contain humorous asides which makes perusing the entire list a delight

  • The service is efficient and clearly professional

  • Whilst a touch pricier than some other West End haunts it is still very reasonable and well worth any extra paid

  • The ambience is perfect for a night out with friends or for a romantic date

  • Their chips are cut chips and still has skin on them

  • The ambience of the place is also very good

  • The menu had a good selection and I was choosing between a burger and spinach and potato curry

  • The chips were chunky chips with the skin left on and the burger was delicious

  • I opted for a posh tea (rather than builders tea) which I think was called posh because it was in a teapot and you get a cup and saucer

  • There's an outdoor area at the entrance with fairy lights and upstairs there's games and table tennis
