Vietnam House Restaurant & Gallery (West End)

• A group of us came here one Saturday evening and it was busy/fully booked
• We received a very warm and friendly greeting when we arrived and were shown to our table (we did book ahead
• The girl who was serving explained the menu to us when we had questions and gave advice when we needed a little help
• Districts in cities such as Melbourne etc I was definitely not dissapointed
• Despite scoffing everything that was on my plate as the food was so delicious
• They ended up coming here in their lunch break and were also very impressed
• A must try are the fresh spring rolls as a starter
• The rest of the menu was not really looked at as my friends new what they wanted and just ordered for me
• This underwritten metaphor quite possibly applies to Vietnam House the best of Edinburgh's very few Vietnamese restaurants
• The young lady running the show was having a fairly frantic time of it last night
• She was doing her level best to keep things efficient and charming
• Where the rice paper rolls are the best I've ever tasted
• Because I wasn't familiar with braised chicken drumsticks as a dish
• A couple of other points to mention there is no alcohol licence
• Found this cozy little Vietnamese joint on Grove Street through Zomato during my short visit in Edinburgh and I will definitely be recommending Vietnam House Restaurant & Gallery (West End) to whoever is in the city next
• I quite literally finished everything on my plate which rarely ever happens with South East Asian food for me and this is not to discredit their portion sizes in the least
• The place has a very comfortable and familiar vibe and everyone around us seemed to be regulars who had brought their alcohol with them to enjoy with dinner
• I had never sampled green Fish Cakes before this and it made for the perfect starter with their sweet and chilli house sauce
• House Vietnamese Chicken Curry which was a creamy and spicy delight made for the perfect comfort food with some rice
• When I set foot in Vietnam House I was immediately struck by how cosy and inviting it was
• The young woman who served us was incredibly friendly and saw to our every need without ever being overbearing
• I'm quite ashamed to say that this was the first time I had been to a vietnamese restaurant
• I wasn't sure what to expect but I was blown away
• The peanut sauce it came with was some of the best I have tasted and would definitely have aplace in my Kitchen if I could buy it
• My main was Pho Ga chicken and It was another winner
• There were a wealth and depth of flavours going on and fantastically it was served with a side plate of bean sprouts
• Booking in advance is just so worth it
• The dishes are mouth watering
• Thats the hard part because it is all so finger licking delicious
• What I suggest is for everyone to choose different mains and share
• Oh deliciously heart warming phos that are perfect for the cold Scottish days
• The broth was a bit too sweet but it was still really good
• The only thing is it was mainly filled with rice and glass noodles and not much else
• Pho Vietnam House (now known as Vietnam House) restaurant was the first ever Vietnamese restaurant to open in 2011
• The food fully satisfies my Asian food cravings with every visit
• Were served with a smile from the lovely waitress
• Is a massive bonus as I have a cold and was needing some healing noodle soup
• Fish cakes and mixed veg salad for starter everything was fresh and delicious
• Our waitress was very attentive
• We had the pork street food style the best of the night and absolutely glorious
• We also has the salad on the starter menu which was light and fresh and the chicken drumsticks which are in a rich curry like sauce that is delicious
• Vietnam House is one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh
• This review is from my last visit yesterday
• We had the fresh spring roles which are by far one of the best spring roles I've had in my life
• As for the mains I had a Beef Pho which is absolutely amazing
• Iva Stefanova Stancheva went for the Bo Kho Saigon's Beef Stew which she finished in a record time and said it was really good
• She also said it was like a soup so don't expect a very thick stew
• As for the desserts we had a green melon ice cream which was absolutely amazing and served in half frozen melon
• My friend had a Vietnamese dessert which is served with lychee
• The ambience is always very relaxed and the staff is friendly and they know the menu inside out
• The only fault of Vietnam House Restaurant & Gallery (West End) is that it's open only for dinner
• Vietnam House Restaurant & Gallery (West End) was recommended to me by a friend and I was pleasantly surprised
• The food had real authentic feel and dishes were nicely presented
• Starters we had fresh spring rolls which were great and fish cakes which were a bit too small in my view
• I had house noodles which were too dry for my liking and could do with more sauce
• I would advise to book a table as the restaurant was full very quickly
• In 2011 The Vietnam House was the first Vietnamese restaurant to open in Edinburgh
• As we entered we were immediately welcomed by a smiling waitress
• The restaurant is very homely and has a warm feel with lanterns hanging from the ceiling
• From the moment you walk in the staff are so friendly
• A word of advice the menu is small and they do not serve alcohol at all but they do allow you to byob wine and beer only
• I have heard so many good things about Vietnam House Restaurant & Gallery (West End) so I was pleased that we finally got round to trying it
• Vietnam House is a smallish
• Beautifully decorated with art for sale on the walls
• T overwhelming as it was both explained well and did not offer thousands of items to wade through
• We had our best meal while in Edinburgh at Vietnam House
• The fresh chicken spring rolls were so delicious
• The beef pho was so flavourful and yet not overpowering
• The chicken fried rice was also very delicious and satisfying
• The place is very cozy and the food is really authentic
• The food is great and looks like it is made on someone's home
