  • My favourite dishes were the butter chicken &

  • The restaurant is located on Leven Street as we walked in the restaurant was about half full with a real mix of people and a friendly buzzing atmosphere

  • The tables and chairs are rustic yet modern and complemented by the wacky Bollywood artwork on the walls

  • The music adds to the colourful atmosphere with a background of eclectic Indian tunes

  • The menu gives a really great selection with around a quarter of the dishes vegetarian or offering a vegetarian option

  • They suggest 3 4 dishes per person as they are served in smaller size portions

  • 3.95) which were really crispy

  • Full of the vegetable filling and served with tamarind dips

  • 4.90) which for me was a real standout &ndash

  • Succulent chicken with a rich and garlicky sauce that went perfectly with our Peshwari nan

  • 5.20) of on the bone chicken and scented rice was a great way to add some carbs with a tasty rice dish

  • 4.10) however was a bit thin and watery but luckily the Sag Paneer (£

  • 4.25) which is one of my favourite Indian dishes was great and theirs had just the right amount of heat

  • He recommended we try a Jalebi which is a deep fried sweet dessert

  • I think by the end we were probably in a sugar coma but they were really moreish and tasty so we had to finish the lot

  • Indian street food restaurant with a very cool interior

  • The lamb dishes from the curries to the kebabs were the best dishes

  • Just there was a huge party there so we sat up in the back

  • Interesting fried balls with coriander and salsa like veg inside

  • Ordered steamed rice which was terrible for portion size

  • Maybe it's to do with the 4 5 dishes you'll be ordering

  • Peshwari naan was nice and thin and sweet

  • Chai tea (Ended up taking it back) maybe it was a bad batch

  • I drink chai tea all the time and this for me was just very weak

  • We visited for lunch after watching the Commonwealth diving and by the time we arrived we were more than ready for a curry

  • The restaurant is right opposite the Kings Theatre so I am sure that it fills up pretty quickly around 5pm so we wanted to get in early

  • First impressions were good &ndash

  • Colourful decor with funky lighting

  • We did not know how many dishes to order as it is tapas style so the waiter helped us choose seven dishes plus rice and naan between the two of us

  • 4.95) were first to the table which boded well as they were a starter kind of option

  • I thought these were great and reminded me of little fish balls that we ate in The Maldives

  • 4.85) was delivered at the same time and we were also really happy with this dish

  • The fried bread was crispy enough to scoop the chickpeas into your mouth

  • T work out what the flavours were and I could just taste a kind of sour taste

  • Maybe others like it but it was not for us

  • 2.20) that had now arrived was far more pleasing

  • We ended up trying the cheese naan too and it was also great

  • The cheese was sandwiched inside the dough and there wasn&rsquo

  • 4.95) is slow cooked lentils and kidney beans so they go kind of creamy and then are mixed with spices

  • Our three meaty curry dishes chosen were railway station lamb curry (£

  • The chicken was moist and it had a deep aromatic piquancy without being too hot

  • D absolutely go back for one of these with naan and daal makhni for lunch

  • All of our meat dishes were on the bone

  • That was an ordering rookie mistake from us because it was a lot of picking

  • On first appearances there was not much meat but we realised that you just have to get right in there with those bones

  • The railway station curry was slightly milder but I could not pick out the individual tastes except from spinach

  • I thought that portion size was just right for sharing and price charged

  • D suggest the staff curry and daal makhni with some naan but I&rsquo

  • Visited this restaurant on Friday night for a birthday celebration with a few colleagues

  • The service was friendly and the staff were extremely accommodating

  • Most of the curry style dishes were really tasty

  • A really nice meal and the food was really good

  • The first time I visited Tuk Tuk was in Summer 2013 when my mother and I enjoyed a light Indian meal (of course) to follow up our extravagant lunch at Timberyard

  • The waiter was very friendly

  • Everything was really delicious

  • The most enjoyable part of the experience is that it is designed so that you can share and also try a bit of everything without feeling like you overate

  • Normally I don't bother with this kind of dish at an Indian restaurant

  • As I love curries and such use of meat is not typical of food in India proper

  • Only thing I can say is I wish there were more than just two

  • My only complaint was that the portions were too less

  • I have been so disappointed with what they call Indian food here

  • The portions are tiny for the price

  • The naan and paratha was also on point

  • We chose this Tuk Tuk because A) I had already been so knew what it was like and B) because their food is yummy

  • We arrived at 6 without a booking and luckily there was a spot for us because as we sat down big groups of people came in

  • Tuk Tuk always seems to be quite busy whenever I go which just shows that people do appreciate the comfortable atmosphere along with delicious indian streetfood

  • I recommend booking a seat if your planning to come alone in the evening with a group of people

  • I am not Indian but I know all the Bollywood songs so I was able to sing along to the Bollywood tracks that were played

  • Aubergine and potatoes curry with a nan and my friend ordered butter chicken

  • I enjoyed my food but maybe the chicken was too sweet for her

  • Overall Tuk Tuk is a great place to come for lunch/dinner

  • The portions are quite small but I guess you order more food

  • It is street food inspired so if your were to go to India/Asian country and buy food from the streets

  • Their miniburgers are to die for so make sue you try them out

  • Once the menu arrived we found out that it was a tapas style affair

  • This was met with dual approval &ndash

  • We were also advised that the restaurant operated a BYOB policy with no corkage

  • T planned on drinking but this was good to know and would play a factor in us returning should the meal go well

  • The welcome is friendly and I was quickly shown to my seat

  • I choose the mixed pakora which was probably my favourite

  • The batter was little and the veg inside remained fresh

  • The butter chicken was good but I've probably had better out of my local indian takeaway

  • The chicken was a little dry and the sauce lacked a little bit of seasoning

  • It's a great idea but for the prices I did think it was a little overpriced given the portion sizes

  • Even before I visited the place I should say I was impressed with the menu (for a chaat person like me

  • As we always reserve the best part for the last&hellip

  • Though the chicken was not upto expectation bhel puri did the magic

  • Both the gravies were lip smacking

  • The briyani was kind of okay

  • Also we were quite doubtful if the naan had any garlic (lol) but it was good though

  • The restaurant is superbly designed n one can smell the fresh paint( not sure if they have recently painted)

  • We ordered 2 plates of golgappaa and it was mouth watering

  • I have tried golgappas at other places in edinburgh but non of them were able to stood next to it

  • Lamb curry was basically spinich n lamb

  • Tuk Tuk chai which is masala chai was good but need to be filtered

  • Luckily i won the matka Monday contest so the bill was on the house

  • The service was fast and positive

  • I had three tapas style dishes and it was too much to finish

  • Its Indian tapas style dining experience is one of the most notable in the city

  • The dishes are imaginative and oh so delicious that even if it didn&rsquo

  • The beauty is that there are so many dishes that each meal is completely different

  • The street food style dining is great for large groups as well as couples

  • If it is quiet the atmosphere is less than great

  • Our last waiter was not very attentive

  • The food has been very consistent with every visit

  • We waited for a while since it was Friday evening

  • Really nice if you like Indian food it has a good vibe and it's really busy the service is excellent and the food is too you have to bring your own alcohol well worth a visit

  • Strangely we were the only Indian couple in this Indian themed restaurant or should I categorize it as a Cafe and Lounge crossover

  • Typical Tapas style dining with BYOB concept that kicks the bu** of many fancy places in &

  • The taste and quality is just superb

  • The place has two sitting areas which are separated and makes the whole thing quite spacious

  • It has been given a very Bollywood feel to it with posters from famous movies of yesteryears adoring the walls which was quite unique in a nice way

  • The service was quite prompt and the dishes arrived in no time

  • Chana was properly cooked and the spiciness was to my liking but the poori was way too oily

  • Daal Makhani was good but didn't quite live upto the hype which it got from some of my other friends who visited Tuk Tuk before

  • The service is generally attentive and careful

  • T win me over on my first visit but perhaps it was just their settling in period

  • We had a set menu which had less of what I would consider street food and was more of a traditional Indian restaurant experience

  • An assorted mix of naans and rice was provided too

  • We weren't surprised that the restaurant was full with locals even at a late hour

  • Waiter did check if there was something wrong with the dish we didn't eat too much of

  • Then we ordered North Indian dishes which were made nicely &

  • Bonus that it was BYOB with decent corkage

  • Be prepared to be chucked out after your meal as tables are oversubscribed

  • Indian food is a regular thing in my life and filling that void would be difficult

  • The food quality is great but not amazing (all the chicken was on the dry side and half the meat was chicken so

  • But what I really loved about Tuk Tuk Indian Street Food (Tollcross) was the small portions and care/speed of their service

  • Or do we wait to be seated and we stood there's a while waiting with no one really paying attention to us

  • The food that accompanied the meal were all really good

  • All the food was hot and delicious

  • It was a lot food and I was so happy to have some to take away in my cute little orange Tuk Tuk bag

  • The restaurant is colourful and inviting and the atmosphere just make a you want to hang out just a bit longer

  • The tatse of food is not very great

  • The food menu is limited and very few options for vegan food

  • The ambience is great and the staff is very helpful

  • The food portion was not so satisfying as it came with a few chunks of meat

  • Overall experience was nice and it&rsquo

  • S a little bit costly with the size of portion provided

  • As when I enquired for our waitresses name to quote in this review that was insisted on by the manager
