TriBeCa (Bruntsfield)

• As soon as I found out TriBeCa was coming to Edinburgh
• I ended up going for dinner with a couple of friends
• Originally I was planning to go for the build a burger option
• I was impressed with the build a burger deal
• My friend went for one and it was a pretty decent size
• The only thing I have to say is that the burger could have been bigger
• I was joined this evening by regular reader but first time quester Keith along with his lovely wife Angela
• D made a reservation as a steady stream of walk in customers were turned away or asked to return a later
• I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs which was delish and my friends enjoyed waffles and French toast
• We were quite disappointed with the appearance
• Took the daughter and her boyfriend for dinner at 1900 and it was ssslllllooooowwww
• My son and his girlfriend also had a table booked same night (they arrived after we had left but it was still slow and both their and our order suffered a few hiccups)
• I'm going to predict it will be good but the teething troubles are still evident and in part that is attributable either to staff numbers or their willingness to be in the thick of it
• Complex build it your self burgers with bread that has a texture that falls apart and a bunch of other stuff that would read as petty but added up to missing the target
• Service friendly so well done to the one guy who was running about
• There seemed to be a BYOB scheme running but it only dawned on my after I was most of the way through both the rootbeer and the burger or maybe the folk in the window were just brassnecked
• I've only tried the portobello burger and tempura fish with chilli noodles both where delicious
• The Oreo milkshake is also a firm favourite of ours
• The snow blizzards are amazing everyone should try them service is a little slow but it's worth it for the food will be back very soon
• After seeing a photo of the chicken and waffles from TriBeCa I was desperate to visit here
• Unfortunately I had such high hopes that I was actually a bit disappointed
• I visited with a friend this week and was pleased to hear that it is BYOB
• The Waiter was Very prepared and helpful as well
• The menu offered a large variety of drinks starting with milk shakes and virgin cocktails and ending with soft drinks that you normally can't get in Edinburgh like root beer or cherry coke
• The food variety is really good as well
• They have couple dishes that sound a bit adventurous like fried chicken with waffles and maple sirup which I will probably get at some point
• I went for a brioche bun since the waiter recommeded this bun to be the best one of all the other 5 options
• I opted for steak burger with beef tomato
• The service was outstanding
• The young man that was serving us was knowledgeable
• Ordered mac and cheese and sweet potato fries which were quite average some fries were still hard and the mac and cheese was creamy but lacked in cheesy flavor which I found quite strange
• We booked here with an itison voucher deal for a burger and fries for two for £
• TriBeCa is a diner style restaurant with a big yellow taxi jutting out of the wall
• The restaurant was incredibly busy and loud as a result
• We had the option to upgrade our choices but we stuck with the burger order and the standard crispy fries
