I went there with my 5 month old son and was made to feel so awkward that I left before ordering any food
-
'Yam Sam Krob' (crispy prawn and squid with chilli and lime)
-
The starters were really yummy nibbly bits
-
The crackling the accompanied the prawn and squid was a little chewy and the drinks were incredibly sweet
-
The crackling was a bonus and we're not really big juice people anyway
-
Yam Moo Yang (grilled marinated thai style pork) and Massaman Ped (duck massaman curry) with some rice to share
-
) for lunch seems really wonderful with a menu this special
-
With all the extras our bill was just over £
-
The pork was very yummy with delicious flavours
-
Apparent visually as well as in the taste that paired with a spot of rice would do me nicely and day of the week
-
I thought the massaman curry was truly excellent
-
Wave after wave of delicate flavours paired with the most falling apart tender duck you can imagine
-
Chow down experience in a cool setting with great tasting
-
The staff reluctantly allowed us to be served and then to our surprise we found out the place was open for another hour
-
Worst of all was my dining partner's vegetarian dish contained chicken
-
It's a great location with a lot of style
-
The soot colored exterior is dark and brooding
-
The signage is understated
-
For the past month they have been operating a reduced menu to cope with the festival hordes descending every day
-
The bubble prawns are my favourite
-
You get 3 in the box and they are really well priced at £
-
Sweet potato crispies (we added an extra side order) were just perfect as were our chilli squid and crispy pork
-
Onto mains and my Steak and prawn dish was really tender and tasty
-
Though the pair of pork cutlets were huge with a caramelised coating of sesame
-
Singha beer topped off our meal and it was very reasonable at £
-
The food does vary with some days being seriously spicy and others not so
-
If you get there before 5pm (i think) alot of dishes are cheaper but not smaller in portion
-
My second visit was with a group of girls from 3 different countries that came to visit me in Edinburgh
-
As I said the food is good but not stand out for me so I cant recommend any delicious dish but I can advise that the pork and sticky rice balls were very disappointing
-
I pictured deep fried rice balls with a pork center but it wasn't it was pork and rice pureed together and deep fried
-
The prawns on a stick were not my thing either but I'm not a massive prawn lover
-
The famous deep fried egg starter was also a let down
-
Quite a bit more pork than is often seen in Thai restaurants
-
T have batted an eyelid but queuing for a restaurant in Edinburgh is not something I&rsquo
-
The poor waiters are rushing around like nobody&rsquo
-
D compare it to Busaba but with the novelty of not being a chain and the whole atmosphere is much edgier
-
The spicy beef salad with red onions
-
Mint and parsley was wonderfully light and refreshing
-
The salad was served in a take away brown box which I found very cute but my husband found a bit pointless given it was a sit down meal
-
The Gai Cha Plu was served the same way
-
This was a grilled chicken dish which was marinated in lemongrass
-
T overcooked at all which is always a concern when the strips are cut so thin
-
The star of this Edinburgh Fringe show though was the Nua Yam Talay
-
A grilled rump steak with king prawns seasoned with lime
-
T usually my preferred cut when it comes to steak but I was so impressed with this
-
We accompanied our meats with plain rice and wok fried vegetable noodles which were cooked well
-
Ting Thai caravan was excellent value for money
-
I called to make a booking for 2 people and was informed on the phone they didn't take bookings and we were to just turn up
-
We had a night planned for dinner and then the cinema so we were anxious to get there straight after work one Friday to ensure we got a table
-
Luckily we did although it was packed and pretty soon after we arrived there was a queue out the door for tables
-
The set up inside is pretty cool
-
It is more like benches so you are seated next to other people and the place is small inside so i would be reluctant to try and eat here as a group
-
The vibe is quite 'fast paced' in that we were too busy catching up and not looking at the menu we were asked about 4 times if we were ready to order
-
I just had to go with the green curry and coconut rice and I am so glad I did
-
I have now found my favourite place for a green curry just a shame it is so hard to get a table here
-
I have to say the two snack boxes we had were disappointing and mainly salad with a few pieces of meat
-
I've been to Thailand so I can honestly say it's the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand
-
It's worth when you get inside with a Singa beer and hot tasty food
-
We really didn't enjoy our meal here which is such a shame because I'd heard a lot of good things about the good here
-
Ped Nam Pueng(duck) with some fried rice
-
The food was alright but the real let down was how little of it there was
-
We could have gotten a Chinese takeaway for half the price that was twice as satisfying
-
The staff had completely changed and were really friendly and accommodating to my veggie needs
-
Ting Thai Caravan (Old Town) was meant to be a festival pop up but with the people of Edinburgh queueing out the door it's no wonder they've stayed open
-
The noodles and sauce were packed full of flavour
-
Infact your meal is served in takeaway cardboard boxes but this just adds to the charm of it all
-
Had chicken pad Thai and it was the nicest pad Thai I have ever had
-
Quickly grabbing the menu I ordered some chicken with soup as starter
-
It was a sunny day and we were craving for lunch so I and my boyfriend decided to fill our tummies with some Thai food
-
It was very tasty with perfect combination of sweet and sour flavors
-
Then again if you want simple and tasty you can't go wrong with their Pad Thai
-
We visited Ting Thai Caravan with some family that were visiting from the states (there were 4 of us altogether)
-
We didn't mind but there is no waiting space inside
-
You think we could have used the 20 minute wait to decide what we were going to order
-
Everything on the menu sounded amazing and by the time we got inside we still didn't know what we were going to order
-
Everything was delicious but the portions are very generous and we couldn't eat everything
-
The Pad Thai was great but the menu sounded so good that I will definitely have to try a different dish on my next visit
-
Seriously delicious Thai food where the staff are friendly and the service is quick
-
Ting Thai Caravan (Old Town) is always busy but try grab a seat by the window
-
The place was packed so we had to wait a little bit but it was worth the wait
-
First serve policy) that is totally worth waiting outside for half an hour
-
Strongly recommend the Pad Thai noodles with King Prawns
-
Service was quick and friendly even though it was a busy lunchtime
-
On my first visit I ordered the Khao Mun Gai Tod which was just the tasted dish I have had in a long time
-
The chicken was cooked wonderful and was full of flavour
-
A little on the spicy side but not too much if you are a wuss like me
-
It's incredibly reasonable and I was almost surprised by it
-
The portions are reasonable
-
The rice and small platters are comfortably filling
-
Weather you are a spicy or non spicy
-
I've to admit that walking past for I don't know how many times I always thought it was more like a cocktail bar as it has a very hipster look
-
Very good and not too spicy which is good for me
-
Just can't see what the big deal is with Ting Thai Caravan (Old Town)
-
It is a bit 'hipsterish' and the staff is not the friendliest but the value that you get for your money is amazing
-
I tried their Pad Thai which wasn't to my taste since it was a bit sweet for me
-
I had Khao Sawy Talay the other day which was a curry broth with seafood
-
Loads of seafood and the sauce was a bit spicy and very fresh
-
The Tom Yam soup is one of the best ones I had in Edinburgh and the Thai Green Curry is very tasty as well
-
Be prepared to share a table with other people since they have big long tables and the chance are you'll seated next to strangers
-
Casual dining with the 'street food' feel
-
Tried both the red and green and they were large and tasty with lots of chicken
-
The servers had bad attitude and were really impatient and rude
-
The noodle and rice boxes are amazing value for money and they all taste very different
-
We had at least 4 of them and they were all unique
-
I couldn't decide which one was my favourite
-
Too noisy and chairs are not very comfortable
-
One of the best meals during my stay here at Edinburgh was at Ting Thai
-
Each meal was filling enough for one and they were served in an easy to dispose boxes for convenience
-
The flavors were amazing and different to me
-
My friend got Pad Thai and was underwhelmed
-
Ordered the (seafood) jungle curry with jasmine rice
-
Could not fault the dish and the Pad Thai are scrumptious too
-
Washed down with some lemon and ginger drink
-
Hands down the best place for cheap Thai food
-
I went there with my boyfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it
-
I ordered Nua Yam Talay with a boiled rice and my boyfriend ordered Panang Nua
-
Ate there once and was quite happy with the taste
-
I tried the chicken with jasmine rice and Oh my gawddddd
-
We had tofu flat noodles which was equally good as well
-
Since the location is well located near to univ of Edinburgh
-
Their Padthai is beyond words
-
I love asian foods yet their padthai is the next level
-
Their price is cheaper during day time
-
Cheap prices and a casual setting to enjoy some tasty Thai food with your friends
-
Pad Se Ew and Khao Mun Gai Tod are my absolute favourites
-
The Massaman curry is one of the best had in Edinburgh as well
-
Ting Thai Caravan is on a lot of "
-
Green Curry with Jasmine Rice
-
Ting Thai caravan is a buzzing busy diner
-
Their coconut rice and Thai green curry was on our menu for 2 consecutive days while in Edinburgh
-
So far the best green curry rice combo I have ever had
-
Popped in for an impromptu lunch and was pleasantly surprised
-
Lovely place with a great vibe
-
The chilli sauce was so delicious my vegetarian partner kept stealing bits of it even though it was chicken
-
The fillet was on the small side
-
Papaya salad and Bangkok spicy wings were bordering on the too spicy side
-
T get the wings again as I was expecting crispy wings in sauce
-
I am in love with Ting Thai's food
-
Honestly some of the best Asian food I have had in a while
-
The restaurant is tiny and it was really busy when we got there
-
The restaurant is clean but a bit chaotic
-
It has a great atmosphere of lingering late night eat8mg in New York in a tiny Asian restaurant where everyone knows everyone and is very vibey
-
We almost felt as if they were rushing us in order to flip as many tables as possible
-
The seafood was so fresh and the muscles were so big and sweet
-
We also munched on the crispy pork skins were were crispy and flavourful
-
Very trendy place with a great vibe
-
The Som Tam Salad was superb too
-
Definitely worth a visit if you are in Edinburgh
-
Place could've been a bit kids friendly but other than that the food experience was phenomenal
-
The atmosphere is buzzing and the food is delicious
-
Was busy as we went in about 2.30 and we shared a high table with another group
-
Service is prompt and friendly and given the nature of the restaurant there is a relatively brisk turnover of clientele
